"I do not like writing a negative review, except in this situation, too many things went wrong. The maître d’ was lovely and very accommodating. He sat us in an area that we requested. Unfortunately, the experience, and it was Valentine’s Day, went downhill from there. For my appetizer, I ordered a shrimp cocktail, which honestly looked more gray than pink when it arrived. The busboy came to remove our appetizers, and as I was handing the plate to him, I think his hand must have slipped (or it was my fault) and the cocktail sauce with ice and shrimp tails fell on my lap, the seat, the floor. He and the waitress quickly brought napkins for ME to clean everything up. When we left, I smelled like cocktail sauce with shrimp and so everything I was wearing had to go to the cleaners. I ordered Bronzino for my main course. The waitress didn’t tell me that it was going to come with the head and the tail attached. From my experience, the waiter or waitress always asks if you want them to be removed ahead of time. I lost my appetite and couldn’t finish my dinner. Luckily, I ordered a Caesar salad, which was actually pretty good, except for one annoying detail. Some of the ice cubes from the shrimp cocktail landed in the salad, which I realized when I took an extra crunch. The waitress asked if I wanted a new salad, but I declined because I was so disappointed in the service and food. At this point, we should have been offered a cocktail or a complementary dessert because the experience was awful. My husband turned to me and said,”You’re never coming back, are you?” and of course my answer was “No!”"

"We picked Son's Addition as a late Valentine's Day dinner because who needs social norms. We went on a Saturday, making reservations a few days before with ease. We were excited by the online menu, and the pricing felt quite reasonable, so we came with high expectations. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Bacon Kimchi Deviled Eggs, which were delicious, but slightly too salty for both of our taste. Our host and server were thoughtful, attentive, and friendly in the extreme. Next came the Bone Marrow, which was absolutely incredible. The dishes were spaced out well and the meal had a nice flow to it. The ambiance in the restaurant was quite pleasant... excellent for a date. The music was a little loud at times but overall the volume was pleasant. Our third dish was the Poached Chicken and Crispy Skin... which was an explosion of different and distinct flavors. It was intense and absolutely delicious. 10/10 would order again. Very intriguing flavor combinations. We finished our meal with the Broiled Yellowtail Collar. This was my favorite dish of the meal by far. The flavor of the fish and the accompanying tastes to complement were perfectly executed. For dessert, we ordered the Apple Huckleberry Crumble. It was a dessert made in heaven, and I would go back just for that. It was the perfect way to cap off a delicious meal. One starter, three small plates, and a dessert was the perfect amount of food for a pair to leave full. This is an excellent, affordable place to eat, and is wonderful for a romantic night out. Staff is friendly and service is expert. The only hiccup was when my partner asked for no cilantro or as little as possible, as the menu was generally heavy on cilantro. The first dish was customized to order, but the no cilantro request was lost in translation for the following dishes. Despite this, we had a wonderful evening and appreciate the restaurant and its staff very much. Great dinner spot."
