"I had a terrible experience with the food at this restaurant. I ordered the Fried Perch Entrée, expecting it to be golden brown as advertised on the menu, but what I received was a burnt brown color, complete with blackened edges. I also ordered French Onion Soup, which was surprisingly black in color and tasted burnt, as if it had been left on the stove for too long. The flavor was predominantly burnt, with only a hint of onion.
This was a takeout order in the evening, and when I tried to return the food the next day, the management refused to issue a refund. Instead, they offered to remake my order. However, when I received the replacement, it looked exactly like the one I had returned, with all the same issues.
Having lived in Hyde Park for 25 years and visited Mellow Yellow multiple times over the years (except during the pandemic), I regret to say that after this recent experience, I will not be returning."
