"We gathered for a mini reunion on Tuesday night at 5:30 PM. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff greeted us warmly, and the service was excellent. I ordered the hand-pulled chicken tamales, which were beautifully presented, but I felt they could have benefited from more meat and spices. I ended up having to pour a whole bowl of salsa over them to enhance the flavor. On the plus side, I appreciated the bonus of extra hand-pulled chicken served alongside! I was also impressed by Escalante's commitment to offering healthier options; the chips were not greasy, and they don’t serve heavy refried beans. However, there was an issue with the restrooms—one of the two stalls in the women's restroom was out of order. For a restaurant of this size, this should have been addressed and fixed promptly. The women at our table chose to wait for others before heading to the restroom to avoid a long wait at the door."
