"It’s really disappointing to see a local business—one that I used to love—become so focused on making money that it forgets to foster a community atmosphere. I completely support local businesses, but I think it’s worth noting that my partner did order something, and I have frequented many establishments where it’s perfectly acceptable for one person in a group not to order anything—especially when they’re not interested.
Overall, my experience at Bob’s Java Hut was extremely frustrating and discouraging. I typically don’t take the time to write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. As a person of color, I didn’t feel comfortable or welcomed being confronted in such a passive-aggressive manner by a middle-aged white woman. One would hope that working in the service industry would equip someone with better people skills, but it’s clear that there’s significant room for improvement. Do yourself a favor and head down the street to Caffetto, where you’ll find a much more welcoming community."
