"My dad has been visiting this restaurant often lately, so I decided to join him for dinner on Saturday, October 2nd. There were plenty of options on the menu, and everything was reasonably priced. The portions were generous—I couldn’t finish everything, but that’s not just because I had brunch earlier. Our server was friendly and attentive. However, my side of okra didn't arrive with my order of calabash shrimp and grilled flounder. She apologized and explained that it was still cooking, promising to bring it out as soon as it was ready. I’m sure I’ve driven past this place countless times over the years, but this was my first visit. It definitely won't be my last!"

"This is an edit from 5 stars one year ago. This summer there was a mixup in my order. No big deal, until I asked about it after 30 minutes? then I was yelled at told me to wait or get out!! When i was brave enough to ask again (half hour later) ? the pizzahad obviously been sitting for an hour. This was a mental health issue and I hope the man running the show gets help. In themeantime, I?ll not go back. One year ago? ?Know your order before you call. They are a busy, fine tuned machine, and don't havetime to chat. Atmosphere in this pizza joint is incredibly positive. It's busy and frenetic when you walk in, but everyoneseems to love the food so much.. that they are extra friendly to each other. The pizza is top notch NY style thin, deliciouscrust with perfectly savory sauce. Awesome place and experience!?"

"Beautiful atmosphere but food preparation was both a surprise and disappointment. The plate looked well prepared but the result was not the same. Our party had four different meals. The pretzel crusted trout was the most catastrophic. The fish had multiple areas riddled with bones you simply could not see until you had a forkful in your mouth. The potatoes would have been fabulous but were made with skin on and unwashed. I had both a small mud clod and rock in mine that resulted in a trip to the dentist. One of our group had the tavern boil. The corn was not fully cooked, extremely hard, and the main spice was red pepper..so heat was great but no other real flavor or seasoning. One of our party had the chicken tenders which were fine, beware if you do not like spicy, there was peppering in the honey mustard that was over the top unnecessary. Finally one party had a chicken sandwhich which was prepared well. The drinks were actually good and the hushpuppies an awesome appetizer but the main courses has taken this one off our list. We will not be giving it a second go round unfortunately."

"We were new to the area and were looking for a sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic. It was made with grilled pulled turkey, using real chunks of turkey instead of lunch meat. It was incredibly tasty. I'm glad I chose that from the menu. The large size was enough for two people. Well done!"

"During my second visit to Mi Amor's, I brought my sister along and we decided to try their large supreme pizza. Just like my initial visit, the pizza did not disappoint. Both my sister and I agreed that it was the best pizza in the Chocowinity/Washington area and exceeded the average for eastern North Carolina. The staff was once again exceptional, and we even had the chance to chat with one of the owners while waiting for our pizza. Since my last visit, they had added a pool table and mentioned plans to create a game room. The owner recommended trying their cinnamon-flavored wings, which I added to my list of things to try. I am also looking forward to trying their subs in the future. So far, Mi Amor's has proven to be a fantastic discovery!"

"The service was excellent, the food was quite tasty, but what really stood out was the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. It had an old-school, Italian feel that was very charming. "I ordered ravioli and was surprised to find that it comes with only 2 pieces for $19. I believe this should be clearly stated on the menu. I called the restaurant to discuss my concerns, but unfortunately, I didn't get anywhere, even though I remained calm. In-house, I received more than 2 ravioli, but for takeout, you only get 2. I think it's important for the menu to reflect this."

"Far better than any cheesesteaks I have had in Philly! Love the rendition of cheesesteak they came up with. The food packs a punch! "Our family often dines there on Sundays after church, usually with around twelve of us in the group. They consistently manage to accommodate us with ease. The pizza on the buffet is always excellent, and they are open to special requests. "We love the atmosphere/ambience! The server was great/efficient, but while serving guests during the lunch hours, it's not very professional to also eat the his own lunch (a plate/tray) in one of the tables in front of the kitchen window. It's best to either eat before the restaurant is open for lunch service, or eat in an area where guests won't be able to see you eating.As for the food, ugh, pretty disappointing. Both Philly and fish and chips were much below our expectation. We were very surprised about it. The taste was just not there.If we ever return, we will try different options and hope to have a better dining experience."
