"We visited during lunchtime and found it to be somewhat busy, but there was plenty of seating available. The restaurant was clean, including the restrooms. The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the chips and salsa. We ordered two tortas that were perfectly made, and both the michelada and the horchata were quite tasty as well. The prices were reasonable, and the menu offered a wide variety of options to choose from."

"The server was quick and unobtrusive. It’s a cozy family restaurant. The food was tasty and generous – I had leftovers, which is always a bonus. I would definitely go back. I had seen Happy Pollo in pictures before, but it was my sister-in-law who suggested we go. She was right – the fajita quesadillas were amazing and she always took some home. I really liked the salsa and chips, and they even had bottles of hot sauce on the table for those who like it spicy."

"As usual I stopped by this place because it was lunch time and I was hungry. Although not a negative,the place is small with less than 20 tables. I was seated immediately and seated and served the standard chip, salsa and queso but none was anything to brag about. I ordered a Shrimp cocktail, whole grilled jalapeno and a flan for dessert. The shrimp cocktail was delicious paired with the whole grilled jalapeno. The desert Flan was also excellent but a lot on the small side. My only complaint came at checkout with 3.3% plus added for a CC transaction and my lunch total neared $23.00. I would absolutely eat her again but sparingly due to the cost which was disappointing."

"I want to start by mentioning that I’m from Arizona and have enjoyed Mexican food my whole life. Until now, I only found decent Mexican cuisine in Arizona or New Mexico. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Tampico's. Their salsa is excellent—flavorful with just the right kick, allowing you to appreciate the taste without overwhelming heat. It’s also the only salsa I’ve ever had served warm, which is a fantastic idea! I ordered the grilled fish, which was great, and the sauce that accompanied it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Overall, my meal was one of the best Mexican dinners I’ve ever had. If I’m ever in Lafayette again, I will definitely return!"

"The staff here is welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. I visited for dinner and found that the cost per person falls between $10 and $20. I would rate both the food and service a perfect 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere also deserves a 5. I highly recommend trying the Cheese Quesadilla with Fries or the Steak and Chicken Fajitas. There's plenty of parking available, including a free parking lot."

"DO NOT order from here through GrubHub. It took me two hours to get my order and when I called to see if a driver had picked up my food I was passed around to 4 different employees. When I finally did speak to who I think might have been manager, I asked her if they had my order and can they see if someone has picked it up yet and her response was “I don’t know, we have a lot of orders.” I said well it says I paid with my card so can you please double check for my name, she told me to hold on with a rude attitude. She then told me they never got my order, 10mins later my food shows up. I think the customer service was definitely lacking, the online ordering needs to be reevaluated and improved especially if they’re going to allow GrubHub to be a delivery service for them. I also feel very upset and wronged by this company that they could not verify they got my order at all. I don’t plan to spend my money here again, bad service makes a lasting impression no matter how good the food is, which I will say was really good. I was just disappointed in how I was treated and spoke to over the phone."

"This is a very good Mexican restaurant. The service staff is friendly and attentive, but be cautious—some of them don’t speak any English. They’ll nod as if they understand you, but may just go back to their tasks. Nevertheless, the food is delicious, served in generous portions, and reasonably priced. They also offer beer, which is a nice touch. I live nearby, so I’ve made it a regular spot. It’s nothing extravagant, but you definitely won’t be disappointed."

"While the food isn't traditional Mexican, but rather Tex-Mex (as is the case with 90% of Mexican restaurants outside Mexico), I have to say that it was quite delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, including the food and atmosphere. I rate it 4 stars because the restaurant does not accept cards from non-German banks, which I found a bit unusual, and we had to pay a decent amount in cash."
