"Delicious food served in generous portions and great mixed drinks. The chips are good and served with 3 salsas: regular red (my favorite , spicy red and a green pineapple salsa. Try the Pappas (Mexican mashed potatoes. They also very vegetarian options.Perfect sweet tea. Lovely atmosphere with fountains and interesting murals. Very friendly staff. One of my favorite spots."

"Ordered what I thought would be a quick lunch for curbside pickup. Made the order, and it said 11-13 minutes for curbside. I texted the number to indicate my space, waited for more than 30 minutes in a dead parking lot. Why curbside? Simple, I have a bad hip and it 's a very nice convenience to have curbside. But after the 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to go in and get it myself. Found my order, sitting at the go to stand, with a receipt that says CURBSIDE! I 've been to the Abuelos location in Texas and love to eat there. While the food is a step up in elegance to traditional Tex-mex, the service is terrible. I asked the host if this was my curbside order. She said yes and walked away, didn 't even ask for my name. I walked out unhappy, and to no surprise, my food was stone cold.. such a disappointment.."

"We had our friends in from out of town. We ordered drinks that took minutes to receive and minutes before we were able to order our meal due to our waitress being MIA. I spoke with the manager and he advised there were two large parties so they were behind. Totally understandable, however, it didn’t seem like our waitress was hosting the other tables and completely ignored us the entire night. Our friend wanted another drink and finally went to the bar as she would not come back to check on us. When she came back to our table, she confronted him about how he went to the bar. There was nothing else to say except she never came back to ask if we needed anything else. We finally received a new waiter and he was much more hospitable and apologetic. I think she told him she wasn’t going to wait on us after that. The meal was comped and the second waiter made up for the waitress we initially had. I just have never had such poor service in my life and our friends were equally just as shocked"

"Stopped to have late afternoon lunch. Not very crowded at all. Service was excellent along with the staff being very friendly and helpful. Building is very clean inside and the decor is just ok. The flour tortillas were a little tough, I guess no butter unless you ask for it. Will go back again. Ask what specials they have otherwise you will never know. 01 August '20 Restaurant is up going strong. Very, very clean. Food is as better than before. Thursday, March 24, '22: was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Employees wore their Covid masks. Plus all tables were cleaned before serving. By the way, the food was excellent . Had the #1 much special."

"A beautifully designed and well kept restaurant. Live music in the courtyard but we sat inside beside a huge wall painting. The server was jovial and accommodating. Margaritas were great, as were the food. Got the Pork Tenderloin Abrigada, the tenderloins done pretty well and the enchiladas pretty flavorful and filling. Ended with their Flan which was well presented and very delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

"My experience at this restaurant was awful from the start. The waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and was just trying to make money. When taking our orders, she repeatedly said "and then," which was confusing and frustrating. She kept trying to clear our plates before we were done eating, which became humorous over time. The food tasted like something you would get at Taco Bell, with my quesadilla being two corn tortillas filled with meat and topped with Velveeta cheese. The overall meal was like a mix between a Mexican pizza and an enchilada, and was not enjoyable. The only good part was the beer, which is hard to mess up."

"No Latinos allowed!! Go to the restaurant across the street best service!!! I wish I can give this spot 0 stars this spot has no respect for their customer’s, the security guard was on top of me and my family when I was already seated. We were celebrating my girlfriend being pregnant. Everyone else was fine walking in but the Latino family gets harassed. I walked outside to get my brother and his family He kept asking for id when I already told him I’m seated while on the phone. Me still on the phone he kept being on my back not respecting me being on the phone. I went up stairs and he was on my back asking for id again. When no other family was getting id. We had a whole baby with us. The body guard was making a scene. He ruined the whole night staring at us sitting down. Made us feel unwelcome as soon as we came in. Last night was supposed to be a celebration for me and my family docside brewery ruined it!"

"Hello all, we stopped by Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant today for a meal. The service, food, and atmosphere was outstanding. I had not been to this restaurant in years and they did not disappoint. We had the enchilada platter with a tamale, charro beans, rice plus a burrito with the appetizer sampler platter (queso, guacamole, and meat queso). It was soooo delicious ?. Hubby had his usual cocktail and he said it was great too. I was really craving a delicious meal at a restaurant today which is such a rarity in today's world that I didn't have to cook myself. I will attach photos. Everything was hot and on point! Shout out to the chef and crew and this establishment. You made my day! Thank you!???"

"I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, and of course, I had to indulge in some chips and salsa! I loved every bite and may have overdone it a little—LOL. I hadn't had Tex-Mex in a while, so it felt like a lovely treat. My daughter chose the shrimp and steak fajitas, which looked amazing, while my mom opted for a variety platter. My husband enjoyed a dish of shrimp, scallops, and mushrooms in a creamy sauce over fish. My sister got the pork tenderloins along with her enchilada dinner. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I had a fantastic time, and our server was exceptionally attentive and kind. They also did a great job accommodating two of us in wheelchairs. Overall, it was a wonderful evening out!"

"If you are looking for authentic Mexican food or Tex-Mex this is not the place. I don?t even know where to begin. I don?t enjoy leaving bad reviews but customers should know what they will get. The first photo is what was advertised and what I expected. The following photos is what I received. To begin with, the crispy taco was not crispy and the meat inside was cold, dry, tasted old and as if it had been mass produced and set under a broken heat lamp. Sadly, Taco Bell would have been better. The chile relleno was strangely, breaded instead of being covered in egg batter as it is traditionally. The cheese it was stuffed with was terrible?and it was not a poblano pepper. The beef and cheese enchilada were smothered with a red sauce that tasted close to canned chili. The chicken enchilada was only half stuffed with what tasted like shredded chicken that had been ground and smothered with a tomato based sauce?the refried beans were obviously canned. The rice was dry and lacked flavor. Lastly, the tamale was dry. It was also smothered with the same chili sauce as the beef and cheese enchilada?the sauce did little to moisten the actual tamale. The waitress was kind and personable. The restaurant itself was well decorated. I wish they had spent the same amount off effort into developing authentic recipes as they did decorating. If the Abuelo is no longer with us, the poor man must be turning in his grave. The Grande Platter was a Grande Disappointment and not worth $24.23. The one star is for the awesome waitresses."

"While on vacation I took my husband here for his birthday. His first visit to any Abuelo’s and I had not eaten at an Abuelo’s in quite some time. Neither of us were disappointed at all.Even though we were there on a weeknight I made reservations anyway. So glad we did. There were quite a few people waiting for tables when we arrived but we were seated immediately.Once seated, our server, Mike, was at our table in no time at all. He was fantastic! Very attentive, very personable. We thoroughly enjoyed being seated at his table.We had taken the opportunity to look at the menu ahead of time and knew what we wanted at least from the bar. We ordered one El Jefe Margarita to share. It was a lot! But…totally delicious and refreshing.We also ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and the Fajita Trio for our meal. Oh. My. Goodness. We had more food than we knew what to do with and it was all so very tasty. The beef and chicken were very tender and moist. The Yucatán barbecue shrimp had a fantastic flavor.Since it was my sweetie’s birthday we got the Dulce de Leche cheesecake to take home since we were totally stuffed from our fabulous meal.It was a great evening all around. I’m so pleased we chose Abuelo’s for a special birthday dinner. Thank you Abuelo’s, you’re the best! We’re on the hunt for other locations on our travels. "Ordered a side of beans and rice for our daughter, the ABUELO'S DIP SAMPLER (did double guac because we didn’t want queso diablo), hubby ordered MI ABUELO'S MANJAR and I got PECHUGA CON CALABAZA.The beans are really good and so is the rice, can tell it’s fresh!The sampler was really good, I enjoyed how they had pork rinds instead of just chips, I’ve never thought of that before but it was life changing to try that with queso! So! Good!My hubby really seemed to like his dish, I barely tasted a bite of it, but what I did taste was good! I’m really picky about ground beef options in Mexican restaurants, but this was quite good!My dish was really good! My waitress recommended it and I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn’t crazy spicy which I personally appreciated, but I think she left the actually chilis out which helped in terms of the heat.All in all, it was good and I recommend! I’m sure we will go back again in the future!"
