"This bistro was a lovely surprise find. A family member lives right around the corner so we walked on a whim to find dinner, not knowing at all what to expect. Inside is very pleasant and nice and clean. Our server was attentive and on point, not needing to take notes and getting everything right for our party of three ordering appetizers and entrees. And the food all tasted quite nice. We got the avocado rolls and the chicken lettuce wraps for appetizers. The rolls were nice and fresh, the cucumbers and bean sprouts all had a great crunch to them, nothing old or mushy. The wraps were even better in my opinion. The serving size was quite large and more than enough for the three of us. For entrees, I got the mapo tofu, my husband got the steak , and his cousin got the yam and sweet potato curry. The mapo tofu was good but if you are ordering it for the first time, don 't expect it to be like traditional mapo tofu at all. I would think of it as more of just some tofu stir fry. However, I still quite enjoyed it. The steak was good, it comes on a small skillet with onions and mushrooms. And the curry was tasty; if i were to get it I 'd make sure to have them make it without cilantro. We all got jasmine tea and at one point two of us were running low and the server refilled without us even noticing, which was great. The server was very friendly and prompt. Overall, very positive experience and we were all happy with the food and would go again. I 'd like to try quite a few of their menu items."

"We visited Colette last night after a concert at Music Hall. The location and space (formerly occupied by Zule) is inviting and familiar. First of all, our experience was great. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was excellent. We tried the laminated brioche and a couple of salads, including the beet salad. The 3 of us shared the cote de boeuf (36oz ribeye) with the pomme purée (mashed potatos). The ribeye was cooked more slowly and was served slices with a red wine reduction. It was absolutely fantastic and plenty for 3 hungry diners to share. We shared a mille feuille pastry with tasty cappuccinos for dessert. We would have preferred less finishing salt on the steak and a few more layers of pastry with less cream filling, but no real complaints regarding our choices. The principal complaint relates to the menu, which is sparse, even for a bistro. There were only 3 appetizers sweetbreads, salted cod, and pate. It would be great to have some lighter or vegetarian starters. The laminated brioche was interesting to try, but it’s mostly butter and really too heavy to be the only bread offering. At $5 per roll it’s also a bit cheeky. Finally, the shareable plates sole and steak options were highlights of the menu, but the restaurant should offer one of two sides to complement the main dish. Perhaps haricot vert or something similar. For an otherwise polished experience 5 months after opening the menu u still felt like a work in progress. Looking forward to returning to Colette in a bit."
