"After roaming the streets for parking for over 20 min, my friends and I were surprised to find such a beautiful venue practically empty on a Friday night. We soon found out why. To get the night started, I ordered a delicious sounding whiskey cocktail. The waitress came back to inform me they were out of the Matcha cream that was integral to the drink. Fine, then I 'll try the basil and gin cocktail. Nope, they 're also out of basil... No cocktail it is, then. Also, lesson learned, photos can be deceiving. Most of the dishes LOOKED pretty good, but nothing was actually tasty. Their crispy onion topping tasted like it was fried two weeks ago and kept out in the open no aroma, no crunch. Their signature sashimi dishes were flat and not spectacularly fresh. Even the fried potatoes tasted like the middle of a frozen hash brown (the part that never really gets fully heated and is just gummy and flavorless. For fun, we also ordered a special roll that is served with a side of flames, but before the dish even reached our table, the flame had gone out and the waiter made no attempt to relight it. All he said to us was it 's just salt and vodka, don 't dip your sushi into it. Womp womp. After that, we just had to go. We actually left hungry to go to Guisados a few doors down. Best decision all night. TL;DR: Ambiance quiet because there was literally no one else there. Food subpar and definitely not worth the price point. Service fine, nothing to complain or rave about. Parking horrible, but I guess that is to be expected in DTLA."

"For a restaurant that promotes itself as a high-end “fine dining” establishment, my experience was quite average. Our server was all over the place, appearing stressed and overwhelmed throughout the meal, which created a less than relaxing atmosphere. I actually found myself resorting to playing music on my phone just to lift my spirits. The goat cheese dish was passable but could definitely benefit from a balsamic drizzle, olive oil, or something a little more adventurous to enhance the flavor. I ordered the blackberry salmon served with couscous. While the salmon was cooked to perfection and the blackberry sauce was delightful, it sat atop bland, dry couscous that tasted like something out of a dollar store box. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the salmon without being inconvenienced by the tasteless couscous. I recommend trying to incorporate some of the goat cheese and cream into the couscous to see how it could elevate the dish significantly. I also ordered a side of mixed vegetables, which were equally disappointing. They were bland, poorly seasoned, and seemed like they had been prepared hours earlier, lacking any freshness or roasted flavor. Overall, I was not impressed. I'm not sure if this was just an off night for the restaurant, as they proudly displayed numerous awards on the walls and had generally favorable reviews. Nonetheless, my experience fell short of expectations, especially considering the high price point. Additionally, I was surprised to find that the bathrooms had no hot water."
