"So amazing. We had been wanting to go here for some time, and finally got a chance to stop. We were greeted by friendly staff, and a very clean, modern, open interior. The smells of other diners' meals wafted in on the warm breeze coming from the open windows, full of glorious pepper, garlic, soy, and myriad meat and veggie scents. We sat down and were immediately attended to by Mimi. Friendly and instantly accommodating to my wife's gluten allergy, Mimi explained to us how the hot pot worked, and how to order things on their menu. I had been to shabu shabu restaurants in Japan, so I knew what was going on, but it was new to my wife. Ordering was as simple as choosing a broth(or two! , what you wanted to cook in the broth, and any noodle or rice sides to accompany the cooked food. We ordered the herbal broth and the mala broth, which was a spicy chinese broth, along with the platter for 2. The platter for 2 included a meat selection(pork, beef, chicken, and lamb sliced VERY thin , a seafood plate(squid, clams, scallops, shrimp, and flounder , and a veggie basket(4 kinds of mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, bok choy, and carrots , and 2 rice/noodle dishes(we got rice vermicelli and udon noodles We also got some pork belly in garlic/chili sauce, and a couple of delicious drinks, a redheaded panda and a mai tai. All the food was wonderful, the broths were flavorful, the veggies, meats, and mushrooms were fresh, and Mimi was very attentive with conversation as well as getting everything to us in a timely manner and with a great attitude. Stuffed, we thought we would never have any room for dessert, but Mimi tempted us with some passionfruit cheesecake, which we decided to share. We made it disappear in about 2 minutes, and it was wonderful to have such a refreshing cheesecake with such different tastes than the normal chocolate laden desserts. We're going to go back often, and we hope to get Mimi every time, she was simply amazing."

"This owner is completely disrespectful and incapable of running a business. Now, let’s talk about the food. It’s never cooked fresh; it’s stored in a filthy freezer that smells rotten, then reheated and served at ridiculous prices. There are flies and even mold in the sweet tea dispenser—definitely avoid that! The chef is very nice but doesn’t wear gloves and even eats while handling food. After one shift, I went to move some trays without gloves and almost touched maggots—I nearly threw up. Another time, I almost quit because a massive cockroach was crawling on the wall near the food where I had to stand. I hate bugs. I had to go with “Lucifer” on a catering job, and while we were returning to the restaurant, she was hissing at me to bring back the catering items. As I did, I saw another giant cockroach—I thought, “No way am I walking past that!” Ironically, on our way back, she mentioned having diarrhea and vomiting all night, trying to blame it on Mexican food. After what I witnessed, I figured it was because of the disgusting food she serves. They offer a $5 chicken box with two pieces of chicken, two sides, and a brick-hard, flavorless cornbread. Sound familiar? It’s exactly the same as the daily lunch special, but if you’re not aware or don’t ask, she’ll charge you $9 for it! This is every day, folks. Sometimes, food from that stinking freezer isn’t even covered, leaving it open for whatever to crawl on. After experiencing urgent bathroom visits after eating, it became clear—was that food or a laxative? The owner’s attitude towards customers is horrible, and the way she treats her employees is unbelievable. Instead of mistreating staff, she should focus on repaying over $6,000 in bad checks because she’s going bankrupt and stealing money. She’s constantly getting calls from cash checkers about it. If she put more effort into running a proper business rather than overcharging for terrible food, she might attract more customers instead of having a graveyard of a restaurant. She’s so cheap that one person has to do cashiering, serving, and tablet orders while also expecting us to do the chef’s duties. It’s ridiculous to be paid $9 an hour for this. Stay away from this place. Don’t let the good reviews and photos fool you; what looks fresh is just an illusion. Everything is subpar: burnt mac and cheese, undercooked hamburger steak, and trays with maggots."
