"Staying at a Sta. Monica hotel at Christmas hungry for a good pastrami, we located Fromin’s on google. I have found finding a great pastrami challenging. I had no expectation to be honest. Well, my son I were quite pleasantly surprised. The pastrami was melt in my mouth yummy! Minimal fat, just enough for a tender moist pastrami, and thinly sliced, but stacked. The potato pancakes were so good. Well seasoned, and fried to a nice crunch. My son had eggs Benedict he said were delicious! The lady who seated us was so friendly accommodating, as well as Maria our server, who was right on top of everything it’s a busy place. The entire staff worked as a team and performed like a well oiled machine! I can’t wait to come back!"

"My family and I have dined at Uncle Bernie's deli restaurant several times and each visit has been satisfying. Situated in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, this is our go-to spot for New York-style deli cuisine. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and the portions are generous. I typically order the open-faced Pastrami and Chopped Liver sandwich with a side of fries, while my wife opts for their half sandwich/half soup combo (often the delightful mushroom and barley). "On a rainy Sunday morning, I found myself with a classic New York craving for diner food. As I entered, I was met with a chorus of cheerful greetings that instantly brought a smile to my face. At that moment, I knew I wanted to make this place a regular stop! I ordered the French Toast Special, which came with scrambled eggs and ham, accompanied by a green tea. It was absolutely delicious—perfectly homemade, not greasy, and just the right level of sweetness. I've tried French toast at various diners before, but this one is by far my favorite; it was perfectly cooked, not too soggy or overly sweet."

"Wednesday Breakfast. Excellent hot food. Clean restaurant in the front of the house Bathrooms ok. Experienced staff who were prompt. We both ordered omelets. Mrs. Giantsfan had a guacamole and bacon omelet, I had the ham and cheese. Mrs. Giants fan thought her omelet was good but the Guacamole should be on top or to the side She didn’t care for the spread warmed in the omelet Just the right portion, buttered Orsi’s toast and served so hot I had to let I cool a bit.. Very well done folks<br/ <br/ <br/ The other thing about the restaurant.. Original wood flooring with a mixture of booths and tables. A group of regulars were holding meeting .. Interesting conversation such a nice change of pace. No need for a television with CNN or music blaring Tears for Fear etc…. All the wall decorations were authentic. Quite a collection of items… Almost a history less of the City of Omaha<br/ <br/ If this restaurant were located out west it might be busier but part of its charm is the Vinton St area. I recommend a trip to Vinton St and south Omaha in general for a good meal and maybe some new discoveries n a great neighborhood."

"It takes a lot for me to give 5 stars all the way across, but all in all it was good! My husband and I with 3 our kids all enjoyed it. We went on a Sunday around lunch time, so the wait and service was fair considering the rush. We got French toast, pancakes, kids sausage sandwich, pretty much a breakfast spread and we all really enjoyed it! Small details: It has an A from the health dept, no super weird smells (like dirty dish rags), seat yourself, greeted w/drinks, clean tables, warmed syrup, bussed tables! Would recommend!"

"Breaks my heart to leave this review as this place was one of my favorites all throughout my childhood. When we arrived there were only 3 other tables seated, so none of this can be chocked up to them being busy.I ordered the fried catfish caesar. What came out was blackened catfish. The server asked me if it was OK, and as I was thinking about whether my stomach could handle blackened (I have issues with Cajun seasoning) he set my plate down with a resounding it 's OK and walked away. I was stunned.My fiance got the two meet combo. The biscuit had zero salt flavor and was incredibly dry. The tritip was literally sliced like deli meet. Razor thin, and just as dry as the brisket. The biscuit that came with her meal was dry, and looked straight out of the can. Definitely not the big fluffy biscuits I remember.After having our food dropped, we were ignored for the rest of the night. It was obvious that our server didn 't want to ask us how our food was to avoid me saying the blackened catfish wasn 't really doing it for me. No further refills, no asking if I wanted a 2nd beer (which I did). We had to ask for our check, and when our server (who I 'm pretty sure was the manager, they didn 't appear to have any dedicated servers) took my credit card, he didn 't say a single word to us.Needless to say.... Yikes. This was probably my 30th time coming here. First time in a few years though, and it seems like it 's gone completely down hill. Will be hard to justify coming back."

"What a delightful and cheerful team! We visited for the first time on a Friday and enjoyed such a variety of delicious food. We took our leftovers home and indulged in them all weekend long. Our server, Brittany, was a joy—she encouraged us to return, and we did that Sunday morning for breakfast, which was equally scrumptious! As fans of terrace dining, we found this place to be perfect for enjoying a meal outside. I can't wait to come back! While the food isn't exactly health-focused, it's a wonderful treat. The only thing I would change is to replace the country songs on their music playlist, but other than that, this place is a lot of fun. We're excited to return!"

"I stopped by for lunch and ordered a meatball sub. When I sat down, I noticed that the bread was incredibly fresh, and I was initially enjoying my meal. However, I quickly realized that the meatballs were undercooked—so raw that I had to dash outside to vomit. When I returned to inform the staff, the young man behind the counter seemed to think I was just trying to score a free meal, which was really offensive. The meatballs were clearly raw; I wouldn’t have thrown up for no reason. Thankfully, an older gentleman, a nice Italian cook, stepped in and handled the situation well. He apologized and helped deescalate things. I still felt upset, though, as it was frustrating to be treated as if I was lying. Up until that point, the atmosphere had been great."
