"Got recommended by one of my colleagues and recently took a visit for dinner. The place was quite small, and I liked that it didn’t attract a lot of tourists like most places on Hanover street. We came in on a Saturday night, but there were a few empty tables available for walk ins. From the appetizers, we ordered the meatballs and the baby octopus. Stewed in tomato sauce, white wine, and chili, the baby octopus burst with umami, and I really loved its slightly acidic taste from the wine. From the entrées, my favorite was the duck breast. The combination of spiced carrot purée, fig agrodolce, and grilled scallions went really well with the farro and the fatty pieces of duck breast. It may not be an Italian restaurant specialty, but they certainly did it better than most of the French restaurants I’ve been to in the city. Black pepper carbonara and the bolognese were also good, but they were exactly what I anticipated from a classic Italian place minimal seasoning and fresh ingredients. Overall, our dinner at Forcella was exceptional. Everything from the food to service was on point, and I would highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for a quintessential North End dining experience without a bustling crowd."
