"I can not believe how expensive this place is and the food was terrible. They charge everything separately? My son ordered a cheeseburger that was 13 bucks and to add on fries it was almost 2 bucks more like really??? He originally asked for onion rings with the burger but the waitress said the only way to get onion rings is to buy it off the appetizer section. So basically you can't replace fries with onion rings and would have to spend 10 plus dollars for onion rings as an appetizer!!!! So he ended up getting the burger and fries total about 15 bucks. My other son ordered honey Buffalo wings off the appetizer section that cost 17 bucks!! and also a chicken sandwich with fries which that cost 16 or so bucks!! Then i order a Cajun chicken sandwich which was already 13 bucks so I said no to the fries because I will have a few from both my boys plates. We both get our chicken noodle soup and it was awful I couldn't eat it. I heard a couple a few tables down from us also complain and they were talking about the water tasting bad. Anyways we get our food and it was bad. The sandwich I had was dry. The cheese on my sons hamburger looked expired and the pickles also looked bad as well. The fries over seasoned. Waitress was nice but didn't even refill our drinks until we were done eating already and when i asked for extra napkins she gave me 3 thin ones. Note you only get this one small napkin to begin with. My boys ate but I didn't and total cost of bill 64 dollars!!! I am so mad. I will never go back. You all should really not charge 13 bucks for a crappy sandwich and then charge us more just for fries and then not even give an option to replace those fries with onion rings."

"Best bagels on the UWS. I see people here complaining about prices and wait times. Most of the time I don 't get my bagels with anything on them, which may explain why I don 't have these issues?I usually buy just the bagels, get cream cheese separately from the supermarket (or sometimes a 1/4 pound container of their specialty cream cheese, usually garlic herb), and perform the necessary procedures at home myself. This is the old Upper West Side way of doing things, dating back to when the old H H Bagels on 80th Broadway ruled the UWS. (The new one on Columbus 85th 86th belongs to the H H Bagels East company, which is different and not as good). The old H H sold both bagels and cream cheese, but would not assemble them together for you. You were expected to do this yourself at home. I guess I just got used to doing things that way.Anyway. Ever since H H closed, Tal Bagels has consistently had the best bagels in the neighborhood. The everything bagels are absolutely perfect, and they have whole wheat everything too.The staff is rude because they are relentlessly overworked and always exhausted. Please try to be patient with them, and consider maybe dropping a few dollars in the tip jar. The guys who show up at 4 AM or whenever to open are the same guys who close in the evening. On top of that, there 's usually only 2 of them serving customers, and the place gets pretty busy. This is also why the closing time listed here is not quite correct (6 PM every day? LOL). They close early as often as they can, occasionally as early as 2:30 PM on Sunday. Go as early as possible, and don 't count on them being open after 4 PM."
