"Update: After more thought and a mysterious phone call my wife received related to this review, I 'm lowering the number of stars from 2 to 1. Poor service and small portions of okay food are why I 've given Joey 's only 2 stars. I 'd driven past Joey 's for many years and had always been curious about this tiny renovated old home looking establishment. There were very few reviews online to be found for Joey 's, which made me even more curious. I finally made it a point to stop in and give them a try. I was greeted and seated promptly, but that 's where service ends in this story. Mostly, I was ignored throughout my entire meal while I observed other tables receiving my server 's attention. Perhaps it was because I was a party of 1 and other tables were fuller and possibly worth more gratuity. The double sided menu had steaks, chicken, and pasta on one side, seafood on the other. Most meals are served with a salad and starch pasta meals are not served with a side starch). The salad served ahead of my meal was just lettuce and shredded carrots. Barely worth the effort. I chose the beer battered fish and shrimp for my dinner. For $24, I expected more than the 3 shrimp and 2 small pieces of fish that were served. There was a thimble sized portion of house made tartar sauce on the plate. I wanted more tartar sauce but was unable to flag down a server after my meal was dropped off. The batter had a good taste, but all items were slightly greasier than they should have been. The side of green beans and carrots was a surprise, but nothing special. At the end of my meal, I was presented with a dessert menu with no prices on it. I selected the lemon rum cake moist and delicious). The server returned with a 2 inch by 2 inch square of dessert...and no fork or napkin. The price of the dessert $7) remained a mystery until I received the check. Perhaps their steak, chicken, or pasta dishes are better, but for the seafood I tried, Joey 's is a poor value in both quality, portion size, and service. I cannot recommend this restaurant."
