"This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was really impressed! The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I ordered the tonkatsu bento box along with some sashimi, and everything was delicious. If you're looking for a great spot to unwind while enjoying Japanese cuisine, I highly recommend this place. They also offer boba tea, and I noticed many customers coming in and out with their drinks. Taro boba tea seemed to be a popular choice. I plan to go back tomorrow for some boba tea myself. I definitely suggest trying the bento box to sample a variety of dishes. Just a heads-up: parking can be challenging to find, and if you do locate a spot, be prepared to pay for it."

"I recently came to Wasabi Bistro for the first time for dinner and drinks with my husband and some friends. It never felt like it got too busy while we were there, so we didn 't feel rushed and we were able to take our time catching up.We got the all you can drink deal for $10 as many others mentioned, it 's a good deal and we just kept ordering hot sake. I found it strange though that they gave us water only after we asked, and didn 't refill it it seems like it would be better/healthier for customers to drink water along with the alcohol..?The food was tasty and affordable (esp for SF . We had a mix of starters (like the chicken karaage, seaweed salad, and shishito peppers and sushi rolls. One thing to mention about the sushi rolls is that they weren 't packed with too much rice. (We opted out of dessert just because there was another place nearby that we wanted to go to. The restaurant got quite loud at times, esp since there was a large table of customers nearby when we arrived, but after they left I 'd say the noise level was average. There are a ton of string lights around that look really pretty. Otherwise the decor is nice but average.Overall, I wouldn 't say it 's my favourite sushi or Japanese food in the city, but it was tasty, as I said, and I enjoyed the ambiance. I 'd be happy to come back here again sometime :"

"My party of four, including a 7-month-old baby, visited the restaurant. We made sure the baby was fed before arriving, so she didn't need a meal. When we asked for the bill to be split in two, we were surprised to find that a 20% gratuity had already been added to each check for large parties. Even though there were only four of us dining, we were considered a large party. The service was decent, with only the young female and male waiters checking on us throughout the meal. However, the manager only appeared at the end to scold us for our stroller placement and deliver the bill. When I called the next day to inquire about the gratuity charge, the manager became defensive and suggested I didn't understand basic math. She even threatened me to come to the restaurant in person to discuss the issue. Due to this unpleasant experience with the manager, we will not be returning to this restaurant. Be cautious when dining with more than four people at this establishment."

"Let's start with the atmosphere. Shima is a small gem tucked away off a main street, and it's only open in the evenings, which adds to its mystique. Inside, you'll find a stunning modern design with a dark theme, featuring influences from various cultures while still maintaining a distinctly Japanese vibe. The highlight for me was Taka, the executive chef. He is incredibly friendly and kind without being intrusive. Yes, things may take a little time at Shima, but good food deserves patience, and the wait is quite comfortable in my opinion. Over the past two years, I've tried a wide variety of sushi, and Shima remains the best. I can't even begin to describe the perfection of the flavors—just go and try everything! You won’t regret it. I've also delved into their Hawaiian menu, although I haven't explored it as much. It has a warm, comforting quality, reminiscent of home-cooked mac and cheese, and is definitely worth trying as well."

The mall features several popular businesses, making it tough to find a spot during busy hours. On multiple occasions, we've had to park on nearby side streets and walk to the restaurant. Inside, Hinode has a typical sushi restaurant vibe, with numerous four-top tables and a large wooden sushi bar dominating the main dining area. The restaurant has several rooms filled with tables, so finding a spot is generally straightforward, even for larger parties. The decor is somewhat outdated, but the place is clean and features three well-maintained fish tanks at the front that provide a charming view while you eat. **Service:** 5/5. The staff at Hinode have always been friendly and accommodating. During our most recent weekend lunch visit, the service met our expectations perfectly. We were seated right away and promptly received our all-you-can-eat menus. Both the kitchen and sushi chefs were quick to deliver our food, and our waiter kept our drinks refilled with no hassle at all. It was an excellent experience. **Food:** 4/5. Before the pandemic, Hinode primarily operated as a buffet-style restaurant, where you could help yourself to sushi and Japanese/Korean dishes at your convenience. Since then, they've shifted to an all-you-can-order format, which I believe enhances the overall dining experience. This change means the sushi is fresher, and you can order exactly what you want. During my latest lunch visit, the sushi was well-prepared and generously portioned with fish. The hot dishes were also impressive, providing a delicious alternative to avoid sushi fatigue. Each sushi order consists of well-portioned servings (1 nigiri and 4 pieces per roll), ensuring diners don't fill up on just one or two rolls. Overall, for the price of $23-30 depending on whether you go for lunch or dinner, Hinode is a fantastic option for sushi lovers. **Vegetarian Options:** They offer some vegetarian sushi and hot dishes, but there aren't enough choices to justify the all-you-can-eat price. **Kid-Friendliness:** The menu is mostly sushi, which might not be ideal if your kids aren’t fans of it. **Parking:** Finding a parking spot can be difficult during peak times, so be prepared to circle around or park on the street nearby. **Wheelchair Accessibility:** The restaurant has ample space between tables, making it wheelchair-friendly."
