"This place is a very unique local restaurant that people flock to constantly despite its more expensive prices. I went here with a group of coworkers, and we really loosened up and had a great time. The crabs are top notch, and the queen and king crab legs are out of sight. There's only one other crab place I'd put above it in this area (Joe's , but it's slightly less expensive here. (Large-sized crab platters are in the $30-$40 range. They give you a lot of food, and the appetizers we had were very good as well. The other seafood that some of my fellow guests had was reportedly excellent as well. Go here for an interesting and different experience. You'll definitely enjoy it."

"It's definitely a good restaurant to explore if you are also a seafood lover! We were 4 people and it cost us about 300 bucks more, around 80 bucks per person. But it's worth it! The food was incredibly satisfying, and the service and snacks were exceptional. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive staff. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a delightful dining experience."

"Niky gave my table to a party of 7 before my 15 min window . The manager talked to me and said it was her fault because she sat the party in my table at 8 . When I was in line waiting for the hostess to finish taking to two people in front of me . When I finally got the hostess attention it was exactly 8pm and I even showed her my phone where it said 8 pm and that it was not fair that they had cancelled my reservation. My reservation was for a party of 12 , and I told them it was not posible they had sat a large party of 12 in my table . The manager told me that they were trying to do everything possible to get me a table , but I’ve been waiting for one hour and still no table. The mgr finally sat us in the last table close to the restroom . Our Mother’s Day was horrible because the hostess and mgr didn’t wait for my reservation 15 min window ."

"Made a reservation thru my Opentable app to find it never went thru. Stood in front to of the host stand for aprox min for someone to ask if I needed help ppl behind me) We would not accept the reservation, did again on the app and it was an hour wait from us standing there. Went to the bar area which we (party of then waited about min to be acknowleged for a drink order. Bartender told us they werent short staffed, corporate screwed them and sent people home, they have plenty of staff. came and recieved a text that our table was ready. Wast sat at gave our complete order (we had plenty of time to look at the menu! Garlic bread was offered and came at min just sitting in a dark restaurant as it looked like had half the lights operational. Food came and the Fried shrimp was over fried and by that time we just wanted to get out of there. NOT up to Landry standard at all. I belong to the member club, have eaten at McCormick, Mortons, Chart House and Del Friscos. They would be appaled at this location! I am still shocked. Especially to have their associates says they were screwed. Not good at all"

"The Salmon Yvette was outstanding and might just put hair on your chest! Ladies, I recommend wearing a turtleneck! However, the tilapia (from the kids' menu) was not great. Fortunately, the manager kindly substituted it with shrimp, which was much appreciated. Without a doubt, this is the best seafood in town!"
"Our waiter David was 5 star, but he needed help. Overall service particularly toward end was slow. He had to take care of two large parties including us. And the food was slow coming out. Ice cream treat for our new grandson’s birthday was a really nice touch."

"Sweet baby Jesus if you’re in New Orleans you have to come here. The setting is very contemporary and casual. They’re Covid conscientious. No problem. I sat at the bar and I had the bartenders special which isn’t even on the menu yet. You’ll have to ask for that. Everything that crossed my lips was superb. I will always recommend this place. I will always choose to come here when it’s my turn to pick the restaurant. Thank you for a spectacular time."

"It was my 29th Birthday and my husband wanted to take me somewhere we have never been before. He decided on landry's even though it was more expensive than what we would normally be comfortable with. When we arrived I noticed there was a sign that said air conditioned, which I found comical. (I guess that's the point of the sign... . We walked inside and were created and seated immediately. Our waitress came up to our table and got our drink orders and appetizer order promptly and she was very friendly. She came back with our water's and the appetizer within an expected time frame. We ordered the crab, artichoke, spinach dip with chips and it was very good. We ordered our food and then our salad' s and bread came out promptly. My husband got the salad with the house vinaigrette honey mustard dressing and he really liked it. I got mine with the house made ranch, but didn't eat it because I was already getting full. The bread is a sourdough heavily buttered and spiced with what taste like a garlic blend and it was very good. Our entree's came out at the perfect time as my husband was finishing his salad. He ordered the trout with the melissa on top (sauteed shrimp, lump blue crab, scallops, mushrooms and then a white sauce on top and it had a huge head of broccoli and rice on the side. My husband agrees with another reviewer who stated that it was under salted so he added salt to it. The fish came with the skin on it, which would have been a deal breaker for me, but my husband didn't mind. He said that everything was really good except that the shrimp was soft instead of firm like it should be. I had the fried seafood platter which came with 1 stuffed crab, 1 seafood stuffed shrimp, 1 fried fish fillet (I think it was catfish but not for sure , several butterfly'ed shrimp, and 3 oysters. It was served on a bed of fries which were under salted. The stuffed crab was ok, but not great, the seafood stuffed shrimp tasted like the same stuffing as the stuffed crab, the fish was very soft and mooshy. I liked the oyster, but the only things on the plate that I really enjoyed was the shrimp. Luckily I was full by the time the entrees came out anyways. We boxed up my leftovers so maybe on an empty stomach I will enjoy the fish, and stuffed crab more. The resteraunt was nice, the service was good, the appetizer, bread, and salad was good, my husband plate was mostly good, and mine was decent. I would expect that the food that we purchased based on quantity and taste should have cost us a total bill of around $50, but before tip it was $72. It was not a bad experience overall, but for the price I would have to be blown away by the food and honestly I can get a fried platter at captain D's for $12 that I would have been happier with : . I just can not justify spending that kind of money for a decent dinner."

"great food! very fresh and authentic. large service even so, after changing tables twice, to two disabled people. I wish there was a better bar menu. they serve only beer and wee. but we will recommend it to everyone! it was also very easy to get reservations on the line and we received a call back to check."

"The staff was SO friendly that in a city full of friendly people they still stood out.We did the breakfast buffet for $16/person and it was totally worth it. All the staples of a good buffet and it was cooked well! The bacon and sausage particularly stood out to me.I also ordered a pineapple juice that I think was mixed with Sprite or something because it was a little fizzy and very sweet. But on a morning when it was 90+ degrees outside it was much needed.I'd definitely recommend!"

"The food is mediocre at best. Large menu with mostly off-putting flavors or just bland, particularly the shrimp and gumbo. I’m a food snob and often eat at high end restaurants so I wasn’t expecting much when I saw the place. It failed to even deliver my low expectation. Unsure what the specialty really was, but the place was busy so some folks must like it. The wooden benches were painful seating so that no doubt added to my displeasure. Ordering wine was an ordeal as it became clear quickly the waitress knew nothing about wine and was unsure how to say the names or place an order."

"The atmosphere is great, but the food is very disappointing. The scallops were the smallest I have ever seen. The fish was wet. The shrimp had the vein in. Everything was very bland. The salad and rolls were the only good part of the meal. Very overpriced for the quality! "Food was horrible. I have been to Pappadeaux many times and the experiences used to be great. The last time I was here was about a year ago and the food wasn’t that great. Tried it again today and it was horrible. The calamari app was cold. Ordered the sea bass with Spinach and it was warm. My daughter had the fried shrimp and fries and the fries were old and cold. She said the shrimp were a bit spicy so we asked for grilled shrimp instead. Those had a good taste but were once again cold. I info … – show"

"We met another couple here for a Valentines Day lunch. The hostess was very nice, advising us about street vs garage parking. We were parked in a 2 hour zone which she said would be ticketed if over the allotted time. The other couple arrived and we put in our drink and appetizer orders. The table shared a plate of deep fried crocodile bites (see photo). They were $9 and just okay, not flavorful or unique. They were searched with a little dish of what appeared to be thin ranch dressing which added a bit of flavor. I believe I had to ask for the drink menu and was surprised that it was limited and no prices were published. I supposed my surprise was because they had such a long and beautiful antique bar along one wall. They have an extended drink menu online, this one appeared to be more of a smaller Happy Hour menu. Everyone was happy with their drinks and the wine pour was generous. Maybe 7 or 8 ounces. We put our entrée orders in and they arrived in a reasonable time considering the place had gotten much busier. My blackened Snapper was perfect. My side was not what I expected, it was kind of a thin potato chowder dish but tasted fine. I was expecting some kind of potato casserole but evidently did not ask enough questions. Everyone seemed fine with what they had ordered. We had driven up from KC and planned on lingering a while over dessert. The waitress didn’t offer us any before presenting the check, which I thought was odd. We are obviously of retirement age, unlike other diners who appeared to be heading back to work after lunch. And it was Valentines Day… Anyway, I inquired about chicory coffee but it was not an offered menu item and asked for the dessert menu. She showed us the menu, I got coffee and the table shared a slice of bourbon pecan pie. The food was reasonably priced, and appropriate portions for the time of day. We probably won’t make the trip again, but might stop there if on our way to Omaha or points north."

"We had the crawdad stuffed beignets, the gumbo, Blackened Catfish Napoleon smothered with shrimp etouffee and the Gulf Fish. It was the best meal we had during the 4 days we were here and we ate at some really great places. The service was a bit slow. Other servers helped us more than our own server did but maybe she was new. This will definitely be on our list for a return visit next time we're in town."

"We finally indulged in some delicious creamy dishes, and everything was fantastic. We tasted jambalaya, gumbo, and rice, along with snow crab legs, which were a great deal at $48. While the food was wonderful, it was served cold and took a while to arrive, likely due to the current staffing shortages. Despite that, I would definitely return to New Orleans. There’s also free parking available at the corner of Conti St and Decatur St. If you’re planning a stroll and want to enjoy a drink, I recommend buying it from a pizza place instead of a bar to save a few dollars."

"I have always loved Cajun broiler but the last 2 times it's just not the same. Left today for the last time. Won't be back. Food was sub par but so expensive. 2 appetizers 2 meals was $75 including a tip. Service was sub par as well. Tipped only because i know they make very little per hour. Salad never brought, hush puppies had an odd taste, French fries with meal were few. Probably the thing that turned me off the most was we were sat near the window inside and there were dead flies in the window seal. Not sanitary at all. I wish I had taken pics but I didn't. It's not what it used to be. It's old, dark was warm inside. I am sure air conditioning struggled to keep up. Unfortunately I won't be back. It's where I've always brought out of town guests, but I'll find somewhere else now."

"--- **Restaurant Review:** I recently dined at this charming restaurant for dinner, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely fantastic, earning a solid 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend trying the crab, shrimp and grits, and the catfish—each dish was a delightful explosion of flavor. The service was equally impressive. The staff was patient and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. They truly went above and beyond, also receiving a perfect score of 5. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to unwind after a long day. With a lovely setting that rates another 5, it was the perfect backdrop for a wonderful evening. Parking was a breeze with plenty of available spaces and a convenient free parking lot. Overall, for a price of around $20–30 per person, this place is a gem worth visiting. I can’t wait to return! --- I hope this captures the essence of your experience!"
