"It was my 29th Birthday and my husband wanted to take me somewhere we have never been before. He decided on landry's even though it was more expensive than what we would normally be comfortable with. When we arrived I noticed there was a sign that said air conditioned, which I found comical. (I guess that's the point of the sign... . We walked inside and were created and seated immediately. Our waitress came up to our table and got our drink orders and appetizer order promptly and she was very friendly. She came back with our water's and the appetizer within an expected time frame. We ordered the crab, artichoke, spinach dip with chips and it was very good. We ordered our food and then our salad' s and bread came out promptly. My husband got the salad with the house vinaigrette honey mustard dressing and he really liked it. I got mine with the house made ranch, but didn't eat it because I was already getting full. The bread is a sourdough heavily buttered and spiced with what taste like a garlic blend and it was very good. Our entree's came out at the perfect time as my husband was finishing his salad. He ordered the trout with the melissa on top (sauteed shrimp, lump blue crab, scallops, mushrooms and then a white sauce on top and it had a huge head of broccoli and rice on the side. My husband agrees with another reviewer who stated that it was under salted so he added salt to it. The fish came with the skin on it, which would have been a deal breaker for me, but my husband didn't mind. He said that everything was really good except that the shrimp was soft instead of firm like it should be. I had the fried seafood platter which came with 1 stuffed crab, 1 seafood stuffed shrimp, 1 fried fish fillet (I think it was catfish but not for sure , several butterfly'ed shrimp, and 3 oysters. It was served on a bed of fries which were under salted. The stuffed crab was ok, but not great, the seafood stuffed shrimp tasted like the same stuffing as the stuffed crab, the fish was very soft and mooshy. I liked the oyster, but the only things on the plate that I really enjoyed was the shrimp. Luckily I was full by the time the entrees came out anyways. We boxed up my leftovers so maybe on an empty stomach I will enjoy the fish, and stuffed crab more. The resteraunt was nice, the service was good, the appetizer, bread, and salad was good, my husband plate was mostly good, and mine was decent. I would expect that the food that we purchased based on quantity and taste should have cost us a total bill of around $50, but before tip it was $72. It was not a bad experience overall, but for the price I would have to be blown away by the food and honestly I can get a fried platter at captain D's for $12 that I would have been happier with : . I just can not justify spending that kind of money for a decent dinner."

"We met another couple here for a Valentines Day lunch. The hostess was very nice, advising us about street vs garage parking. We were parked in a 2 hour zone which she said would be ticketed if over the allotted time. The other couple arrived and we put in our drink and appetizer orders. The table shared a plate of deep fried crocodile bites (see photo). They were $9 and just okay, not flavorful or unique. They were searched with a little dish of what appeared to be thin ranch dressing which added a bit of flavor. I believe I had to ask for the drink menu and was surprised that it was limited and no prices were published. I supposed my surprise was because they had such a long and beautiful antique bar along one wall. They have an extended drink menu online, this one appeared to be more of a smaller Happy Hour menu. Everyone was happy with their drinks and the wine pour was generous. Maybe 7 or 8 ounces. We put our entrée orders in and they arrived in a reasonable time considering the place had gotten much busier. My blackened Snapper was perfect. My side was not what I expected, it was kind of a thin potato chowder dish but tasted fine. I was expecting some kind of potato casserole but evidently did not ask enough questions. Everyone seemed fine with what they had ordered. We had driven up from KC and planned on lingering a while over dessert. The waitress didn’t offer us any before presenting the check, which I thought was odd. We are obviously of retirement age, unlike other diners who appeared to be heading back to work after lunch. And it was Valentines Day… Anyway, I inquired about chicory coffee but it was not an offered menu item and asked for the dessert menu. She showed us the menu, I got coffee and the table shared a slice of bourbon pecan pie. The food was reasonably priced, and appropriate portions for the time of day. We probably won’t make the trip again, but might stop there if on our way to Omaha or points north."
