"This North Beach pizza place offers substantial pizza, fair prices, and cozy seating, making it deserving of a four-star rating. I visited near closing time and took some time to navigate the extensive menu before asking the cashier for a recommendation. He suggested the Margherita pizza, so I ordered a personal size since I was dining alone. I was surprised by the size, as I thought it would be smaller. I also purchased a bottle of Martinelli's apple juice. My total came to around $17 before tip. While waiting for my pizza, I visited the clean and well-lit restroom. The dining area had dim lighting with spotlights on the tables. Although the seating was limited, it was enough for the evening crowd. My pizza arrived and I was impressed by its size. Despite not being very hungry, I managed to eat half of it. The crust was thicker than other Margherita pizzas I've had, but it was deliciously soft and topped generously. The cheese was melt-in-your-mouth, but the basil could have been chopped more finely and spread out better. The tomato slices were a bit thick for my liking. I ended up taking the remaining half of the pizza home in a box, feeling satisfied with the portion size for the price. The service was excellent, especially considering they were about to close. While the pizza wasn't my favorite, it was still decent and I believe I would have enjoyed it more if I were hungrier. Overall, I had a positive experience and would rate it four stars."

"I advise either the mushroom or the pesto. Still the best pizza I've had since I was a kid. It was very bittersweet to be here. I haven't been in almost twenty years. With wonderful cheese and a lovely soft thick crust, pizza is still excellent. You require pizza at this time. I'm happy to see that the restaurant where I grew up still has the same flavor and is as delectable as I recall. I also had no notion that they produced Italian cuisine in addition to pizza. They produce pasta in addition to offering a complete menu inside."

"Thank you so much to the Iron Gate staff for such a wonderful evening. My date and I had a nice time and a corner-table to have some privacy and catch up in conversation over dinner and celebrate a special occasion for the two of us. The chef specials we ordered.... her: Salmon, me: Petrale Sole, were both very good, as was the wine and dessert. The staff was very accommodating in seating us at 7pm (prior to our 7:30 reservation) and left us alone to chat after dinner with no feeling of being rushed... we really appreciated that. We were literally the last couple to leave the restaurant at 10pm. Thank you again for a memorable evening."

"Food was good as usual but delivery driver was beyond rude. I put in the comment to look up my last name in the directory to be called in. He called and yelled what is gate number. I told him like I put down you have to dial my last name but I would open the gate. You could heat the gate say access granted and gate opening and he yells asking what is my name. I said I already opened the gate and he hung up. I went outside as the driver's never know which house it is. The driver did not get out of the car, he rolled down the window, his car reached or weed, and he asked Mr what the total was for my card. I told him I clicked on the 18% for the tip and he still didn't know the total. I had to look up my order in my email for the total for him. Driver took my card through the passenger window and ran my card. He then stuck the food through the passenger window which it did not fit and I had to sit there an maneuver it out of the car. This driver was extremely rude and unprofessional. A shame as the food is good, but if your team is rude, customers will start going somewhere else to get the same food."

"Usually, this restaurant offers a dependable takeout service, but tonight it missed the mark. I would recommend avoiding the lemon chicken if you plan on ordering to go. The presentation was off-putting enough that my family is considering trying another place next time. The chicken arrived cold and dry, with only 2 ounces of lemon sauce, which was inadequate, and there was no way to reheat the dish properly at home. Though the restaurant was busy with takeout orders (which is understandable), my food had been sitting on the counter long enough to cool down, even though I arrived 10 minutes early. Overall, it wasn't worth the effort or the expense. The sweet and sour soup was decent after reheating at home, and the green bean beef was average as well, also warmed up later. However, I definitely wouldn’t recommend the lemon chicken."

We enjoyed crispy crab puffs, potstickers, two different soups, sautéed green beans with chicken and black bean sauce, homestyle tofu, broccoli with oyster sauce, and deep-fried salmon and cod fish. The meal was plentiful and delicious, with leftovers to take home. The dishes were fresh and flavorful. This restaurant is a must-visit if you are in the area, with convenient street and back lot parking, a full bar, a gaming room, and a banquet room for events. The service and food receive top marks. On a recent return visit, the restaurant maintained its great ambiance, good food, and friendly greetings."
