"Me and my husband walk in...we're the only ones here. I ask the woman up front if we can see a menu since we've never been here before.Her attitude? She is on her phone. She is visibly annoyed with us. She doesn't answer our questions about specific food items. Okay. I'll let it go. Maybe she is just having a bad day? That happens. So we decided to order some food anyways.Food.... Where to even start man. We paid around 50 dollars for this awful experience.Teriyaki chicken. The chicken itself was cooked with zero seasoning (unless you count sesame seeds??? . The only teriyaki part was the ice cold dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure is off the shelf from Safeway. The vegetables were just frozen thawed tasteless bits.The fried rice that I paid extra for? Worst thing on the table. It was like someone took white rice and dipped most of it in day old egg drop soup. It was GROSS.The sweet and sour pork? You could get better at a mall food court or cafeteria.If you're going to be a nice sit-down restaurant.... Then be one. If you're going to be a step below panda express.... Then own up to it. The food looks like it would taste good but it absolutely does not. I'll never go back."

"Been going to Pho Mekong for years now. Sadly it is one of the last old school Pho spots in Oakland as Kevin 's Noodle House and Pho Hoa Loa closed years ago. Usual fare here: pho, bun, Bahn mi. Food is standard nothing will wow you. What makes Pho Mekong different is that they sell desserts smoothies, Boba and the Vietnamese version of Halo Halo. If you want pho with beef slices to your liking (rare), ask for it on the side and put it in yourself."

"Today, I found myself at the Fairgrounds for the Viet Street Food Festival. I had my ticket and was ready to enjoy the experience. However, the thought of battling the cold, long lines, and large crowds for street food was less appealing than I initially thought. Though I craved Pho or any delicious Asian cuisine, I just couldn't bring myself to brave the festival. Instead, I made a quick decision and drove to the nearest restaurant I could find. Google pointed me to Pho Viet, so off I went. The restaurant is situated in a run-down strip mall, but I’ve learned to overlook the surrounding businesses since they don’t always reflect what’s inside."
