"I visited this restaurant for the first time with my mom, daughter, and son-in-law for lunch, and we were highly recommended it by my daughter and son-in-law. As soon as we walked in, the delicious smells caught our attention. We tried the flaming cheese (saganaki, I believe) and I am now hooked! The waitress also brought us bread, a plate full of olives (yum), and butter to nibble on. Three of us ordered the trio platter, while my daughter ordered the chicken gyros platter - everything was perfect! For dessert, we each enjoyed a slice of baklava. I felt like taking a nap right there, as it would have been the perfect ending to a fun and delicious lunch. We will definitely be returning! Thank you Central Gyros for an amazing lunch experience!"

"For our second visit, the host and staff cordially seated us in the dining room, attended to us promptly and afforded us a personal visit from the friendly owner. We had read that alcoholic beverages are now being served, a wonderful and anticipated change from our first visit. Bottled water with a basket of pita and chopped marinated red pepper were offered as a complimentary starter while we reviewed the options for our meals. The menu is extensive and the portions are ample. For an appetizer, my wife I enjoyed authentic falafel with humus and arugula accompanied with a sour cream topping. Unlike what we’ve eaten in other restaurants that serve this delicacy, our appetizer was savory, nicely presented and tasted better than any we’ve had in the Capital District. For our main dishes, my wife, a vegetarian, had the eggplant salad platter with baby baked potatoes, cherry tomatoes, ample cheese topping and a sizable green salad. My dinner meal was the branzino filets, delicately and artfully arranged mashed potatoes and a green salad. Both meals were served on large plates and very hot. Neither plate had any leftovers! Completing our meal were a serving of pistachio baklava and a pot of decaffeinated rooibos tea. The ambiance and excellent service by Sean made for an extremely favorable impression on us during this follow up visit. Needless to say, we highly recommend this restaurant, and we’ll be back!"

"Mom and I always enjoy our dinner out at Parthenon. Food is hearty and well prepared, and the service is always good. We have never tried items from the cold appetizer menu, but they seem to be popular, seeing how much they are ordered by neighboring tables. The last time there was uncharacteristically noisy, but it may be due to the cold weather drawing diners who would normally eat on the patio out front indoors. The crowd is usually mature, with few children at least fewer than nearby Clyde's, but family groups are not out of the normal"

"My husband and I had a wonderful visit for dinner at The Great Greek Restaurant in Sherman Oaks on June 18, 2023. The hostess, Oriana and our waiter, Peter, and other staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The restaurant was fun and festive with live Greek music performed by very talented musicians, Gerasimo and Dobren. We started off with a Tarama, a favorite Greek caviar dip with grilled pita bread which was simply outstanding. They state that “Our centuries-old recipe is among the world 's best” and I absolutely agree as I have ordered it in many Greek restaurants across the United States. We then enjoyed a crunchy and flavorful Peasant Chopped Salad with chopped romaine lettuce, lots of wonderful feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, capers, bell peppers, red onions, red and green peppers and a Greek vinaigrette. My husband ordered the delicious Moussaka, with baked eggplant, ground beef, Greek spices and bechamel sauce. Wanting to sample many dishes off of the huge menu, I ordered the Combination Plate which featured House specialties on a large platter- pastitsio pasta, moussaka, stuffed grape leaves, spinach cheese pie spanakopita , lamb of the day, oven-roasted potato, rice pilaf, and the vegetable of the day. It was incredible and I had lots to take home with us and so did my husband. We saw many other dishes we wanted to try next time. We enjoyed reading the history of the restaurant and its artwork which included fascinating political posters and more. The valet service was so convenient and one gentleman had worked there since 1984 and was very nice. We HIGHLY recommend a visit to The Great Greek with family and friends! They won’t let you leave hungry!"

"Was very good food and very good service. Was a bit surprised at the credit card surcharge surprise when my card was brought back. It would have been appropriate to tell me that will be added when my card was taken and given me the option to pay cash. Wasn’t worth asking about when my card was returned. I don’t know why business owners don’t include the cost of credit cards in the normal cost stack when figuring the price of their entrees since most people use and prefer credit cards."

"Very disappointed at this place. I actually left hungry. My family and I are Greek so we were expecting authentic Greek food as the website suggests. My go to dish is always moussaka and this the first time I didn 't even finish 1/4 of it, I had one bite and pushed it aside. There was no flavour at all in the meat, it was completely bland. I got a side of green beans and they were also bland. My family did enjoy their pasta dishes which I tried a bit and those were a actually seasoned well and had spices. The service was very, very slow. I was even waiting for my waitress to come back after we had recieved our dinner so I can ask for something else as the moussaka was completely bland. She never came back untill my family was finished their plates so at that point asking for a new dish was pointless. All I ate was some green beans and lemon potatoes. Was even more disappointed as this is my birthday trip. I was afraid to even order dessert since my dish didn 't taste seasoned. Out of my whole meal, including my drink I only enjoyed the lemon potatoes. It was obvious I didn 't touch my moussaka besides trying a bite and all I was asked was if I wanted a box to take home. The waitress we had also didn 't know the difference between greek mazithra and Parmesan cheese. We asked for extra mazithra and then I overheard her asking a coworker for extra Parmesan. When it came it was indeed parmesan cheese and she said I didn 't know there was a difference after we asked again for mazithra. Overall my family enjoyed their food, but the lack of customer service made me not able to order anything else so I left hungry."

"I had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. The service was incredibly disappointing, and Katie at the bar was particularly unkind. It’s shocking to me that someone with such an attitude is working in this industry. She looked me up and down and even suggested I should eat a cheeseburger. To make matters worse, while we were still finishing our dinner, she informed us that they were trying to close and took our food away, even though it was only 8:30 PM and the restaurant doesn’t close until 9 PM. I urge you not to waste your money here. The level of unprofessionalism is astounding. Dining out shouldn’t mean being treated poorly at the bar, and Katie’s demeanor is not suitable for this line of work. Please consider avoiding this place!"

"One of Columbus' best restaurants. The food is great. The atmosphere is family friendly, casual, but nice. The night we were there, one employee worked the house and two or three worked the kitchen. Despite the lack of personnel, service was prompt and friendly. The one house worker also handled all calls, all pick-up orders, and all walk-ins placing to-go orders. The kitchen staff had no problem keeping up.We enjoyed the appetizers of olives with feta, and the fried calamari. Our entrees were the seafood trio and the salmon. Both were excellent. If you've not had Greek wines, they offer several reds and several whites. They deserve sampling. Greek whites, especially, have more robust qualities than wines grown in cooler climates."

"Not too busy when we arrived on a Sunday at dinner time on the far right, there was a rather large party so we were seated to the left plenty of open tables on the left side. The hostess was very nice and friendly. Within five or 10 minutes of being seated, a rather large group was seated right behind our table and they were loud. They didn’t care that they kept bumping into my seat every time they got up/sat down I’m sure the hostess had to know that they had that large party coming and could have possibly seated us at any of the tables further away from this party Had we not already received our drinks and bread I would have requested to move unfortunately, their loudness ruined our dinner discussion, interacting with each other or a relaxing meal because we could barely hear each other over their loudness The food was delicious. Cooked to perfection. I ordered the Greek lasagna starts with a “p” w/ green beans very good. Love the red sauce on the pasta dish and those green beans are in the most delicious sauce as well. My husband ordered the Chicken lemonata (sp? came with two sides. Both were very good. Meal came with fresh Greek bread. We also ordered the traditional calamari. The Calamari has a light breading and although tasty I really didn’t get much of a flavor of the squid it almost seems so like I couldn’t taste it I prefer a bit thicker slices of squid Service was good. We had an older gentleman who had a bit of an off or dry humor. I often couldn’t hear what he was saying We definitely will be back as there were many other options we want to try $55 meal (inc. tip We didn’t go home hungry"

"I’ve previously tried the food truck and finally made it to the brick and mortar. The set up of the restaurant is very strange. You order at the counter, and you’re given a number. However, you don’t choose your own seat. You have to wait to be seated. People bring your food out and refill your drinks, so I’m confused as to whether the staff is making at least minimum wage without factoring in tip or if they’re relying on tips. I felt a bit crowded by the staff. They kept coming to ask to take away plates even though our table wasn’t crowded with dishes. Maybe they really needed to use the dishes or were trying to stay on top of things, but it was a bit awkward. Food was good but not amazing like some of the other reviews make it out to be. There is a 3% surcharge when paying by credit card. Parking: They have a very small parking lot. There is parking on the street, but when I visited, people did not know how to park correctly."

"The outside seating with built-in table fire definitely added to our dinner experience. The food was also some of the best Greek food I've had in the suburbs. "The interior of this restaurant felt catastrophic and neutered. I have to admit that I found it a little dark and insulating. But this is less a mistake of the restaurant than a result of my being with me at 3:00 in the afternoon. As for food, it was good. I had the lamb. It was neither the best nor the worst lamb I had in my life. The pieces were quite large, and the price was reasonable. I have only few explicit complaints, except that I have more than just enough when I decide to eat. So I give three stars, although I agree that I would have come here with a big party at 7:00 or 8:00 at night, the atmosphere would have felt much more comfortable and lively."

"I guess I ordered food on an off day or something, as the beef in my pita was downright gross. It was charred but also had some other odd flavor that I can't put my finger on. The meat was also very stringy and tough. The hummus was thick and mealy, aswell, though it did have a very good garlicky taste to it. The fries were fantastic, but not good enough to make up for the restof the food. Also, the person at the counter literally tied my food in the bag and threw it on the pickup shelf. The gesture wasso off putting that I didn't even realize it was my food until he brusquely told me as much. I won't return here."

"Had a wonderful lunch Greek Cuisine-West End. It has been a couple years since we have found a good gyro, and this really did impress. This is a small establishment, but when you are confronted by the aromas as you enter the door, you know you are in for a treat. The chicken and lamb gyros were excellent with very generous portions of meat. The lamb, in particular, was extremely well seasoned and flavorful. We also had the Santorini platter, basically a greek salad on top of gyro meat with sides of Pita bread and tzatziki sauce. Again, a generous portion and quite flavorful. The Greek Pikilia I platter provides a nice blend of a variety of Greek flavors which were all quite good. The Spanakopita and tiropita were flaky and light with a nice mild filling. The grape leaves of the dolmades can sometimes be a bit sharp flavored, but these were not overly strong and complimented the rice filling nicely. The marinated tomatoes and cucumbers with sides of hummus and tzatziki to put on pita bread rounded out a fantastic meal. We loved the food and attention of the eager to please wait staff. What a pleasure."
