"My husband and I went on the City Cruises Chicago Chicago River Architecture Brunch Tour. We had a great time on this cruise and highly recommend it. Once you get on the cruise, you'll have a great time. But getting to the boat was a challenge. From street level there are no, zero, nada, zilch signs telling you where to go. We had to guess on which way to get down to the river level. Thankfully, we guessed right. There no directions on how to get to the boat. You can't go directly to the boat, you have to go to their ticket booth, get your tickets, then show it to the boat assistant to get on the boat. While in line to get our tickets, the two groups in front of us were taking forever asking questions that did not pertain to this cruise and delayed our entry on the boat. It would be very helpful to have a separate line for those who had already purchased tickets.Once on the boat, we had a great time. We were treated to bottomless mimosas. Our first appetizer was a shrimp cocktail. This was purchased separately in order to use the balance of the gift card we were given. The shrimp tasted fresh and were cold. It came with cocktail sauce. For starters, I got the watermelon and feta salad (Feta Cheese Cherry Tomatoes Balsamic Vinaigrette) and my husband got the greek yogurt and granola parfait (Chobani Non-Fat Greek Yogurt Honey Granola Fresh Blueberries and Strawberries). The watermelon was fresh and paired well with the feta cheese and mandarin orange vinaigrette salad dressing. The greek yogurt and granola parfait wasn't very sweet but my husband liked it anyway. For the main course, I had the Brioche French Toast (Stuffed with Nutella Cream Fresh Strawberries Maple Syrup) while my husband had the Buttermilk-Brined Chicken Breast. The French toast comes out as a giant piece of French toast. I loved its filling. This exceeded my expectations for what French Toast should taste like. The chicken breast was very tender and moist. The menu that you see online will be different from what you get on board. I was disappointed that they did not have the chocolate cake as advertised, so I got the tres leches cake instead. My disappointment quickly disappeared once I tasted the tres leches cake. This was one of the best non-chocolate cakes that I've ever had. My husband got the New York Style Cheesecake (Lemon Mascarpone Cream Blueberry Compote). It had a texture that is a little rougher than I'm used to a cheesecake having, but was still recognizable. The views that you get on this river cruise are remarkable. Be sure to bring your camera. The narrator will tell when there are good views and picture taking opportunities coming up. The forward deck of the boat is a great spot to take pictures and watch the buildings as the boat goes down river. My biggest complaint is that it was very difficult to hear the narrator. The microphone wasn't very loud and the other passengers were too loud to hear her. It would not have made much of a difference if she wasn't there at all. Part of the cruise experience is to learn about the buildings and that did not happen.Overall, this was a great way to spend a Saturday. I highly recommend City Cruises Chicago Chicago River!"
