"Unusually good for St. Bart's We've owned a villa here for 10 years and we've seen a lot of changes, most not good. It appears there are very few restaurants left that offer great food for a reasonable (for St. Bart's) price. This restaurant is located where the now defunct Wall House used to be. Great decor. Great atmosphere. Great food. But very pricy. Putting that aside, my wife and I found the food to be so good, we went back a couple of nights later and had basically the same meal all over again. The cote de veau is out of this world. The grilled octopus, the best we have ever had. The cheese cake, absolutely spectacular. But it is irritating when the waiter comes to the table after a wonderful evening and asks how much we would like to add for a tip. That is becoming common practice on the island. In all of France there is a 15% service charge included in every meal you eat. It seems that the waitstaff spot an American tourist and try to pull another 15 or 20% for themselves. French residents are never asked this question and a good percentage of them never leave anything extra. If I have enjoyed the evening, then out of habit I'll leave at least an additional 5 to 8 percent. But this new practice has made us want to find a new vacation spot. But if you're looking for a great dining experience, this place fits the bill."
