"This restaurant has tremendous amounts of potential, held slightly back by small little details that add up. First off, the venue is beautiful. The vibe, the decor, the location, it's absolutely excellent and sets the mood perfectly for any event. Having two levels leaves plenty of room, and spacious dining rooms. Next, the service staff is kind, welcoming, and helpful. However, they are missing some core rudiments which I would expect of a venue like this: regular stops to fill water, or dropping a water glass for self service. walking through the menu, offering suggestions for popular or seasonal items letting you know up front which dishes are good to share, and which are better ordered solo. The great thing is, the impression I got from the staff was that they're all incredibly eager, and willing to learn they may just not have been trained to do so. I say this in part because we noticed a manager making rounds of the guests and staff, and generally also glossed over these finer points of hospitality. Once impressed at the top, I have no doubt the staff would immediately take up the challenge and excel. Finally, the food. The bar program is impressive! I wanted to stay all day to try all the drinks the Bourbon Blaze was our absolute favorite. No notes, solid drinks. For the food, we found ourselves a little disappointed with discrepancies in description on the menu, and what we got. For example, for the Short Rib hash we were expecting potatoes akin to, well, a hash. Instead, we had a disappointingly small wedge of potato the short rib was plated on. Also, we ordered two dishes of short rib, and the salt levels were pretty different between them. For portion sizing, I had the country egg Benedict, which was also a bit on the saltier side, but more importantly was overwhelmed on the plate with salad. I loved having the salad with the Benedict, but the salad actually partially covered one of my eggs this was an overwhelming amount of greens that obscured the fact that I had two to begin with. In this particular case, less is more. Finally, for the desserts, the portion sizes were massive! Very, very generous, but I wish I had some warning up front how big the banana pudding and the apple crisp would be, either by the server or the menu. Each of those dishes could serve at least two people and we ordered one for each of us. Overall, there's definitely room for improvement, and I hope they do! Heritage has a lot of promise and I'm excited to see how they implement changes and improve further. I will absolutely come back to track their journey. "As usual I’m out and about with my family celebrating my cousin’s 19th birthday and he decided on Grand Lux. Now the first thing that came to my mind was cheesecake with strawberry topping It’s been a minute since I’ve been to GrandLux and I must say we were very disappointed. We waited almost an hour after our “reservation” to be seated and once seated everything went down hill. There were 9 of us as 2 of his classmates who work in the mall decided to join us. Our waiter took about 15 minutes to come introduce himself and still didn’t take our drink or appetizer orders. Finally he comes back and took our drink orders however it took about another 20 minutes to receive them and I had to inquire about my Grand Lux Margarita and other alcoholic beverages we ordered and he stated the bar was backed up. Finally everyone gets the drink they ordered and finally we placed our appetizer orders needless to say they took forever to arrive as well but we’re starving at this point so no one cared enough to complain. Our food orders were placed and keeping up with the pattern it took forever to receive our entrees and when we did the birthday boys order was wrong. At this point I was over it. My salmon was dry, flavorless and the mashed potatoes were cold many of the other guest weren’t pleased with their orders either but why bother complaining it would have taken two hours to reorder and receive our food. My grandson needed to use the bathroom and OMG I was very very shocked at the condition it was in completely unacceptable. Although the restaurant itself was clean and tidy there is no excuse for the bathroom looking the way it did. All in all we had a great time talking and celebrating and our waiter who I promised him would remain nameless states that the issue is they are understaffed and overworked and are in desperate need of more wait staff, kitchen/prep cooks and bartenders. He also stated he’s thankful to have a job but it’s stressful working under those conditions and not every table is as understanding and generous as we were. This chain can surely do better!"

"Went here as a Valentine's date idea with my longtime girlfriend. The room was incredibly loud, and it was difficult to have a conversation– this was due to the music set to more of a party-level combined with the din of excited younger diner's. Our food was alright. They were out of oysters when we got there, so we swapped to the shrimp nacho's. The cheese was akin to cheap movie theater nacho cheese, the one with that plastic-ey taste. Many of the ingredients weren't dispersed well, and there were chunks of cut onions still stuck together from their time on the chopping board. Main entree's came, and my girlfriend's salmon arrived braised but raw on the interior. The squash rings, while delicious, were cold for both me and my girlfriend. We asked for the salmon to be recooked and they said they'd bring a new plate entirely. This time, the squash was warm, but salmon still wasn't cooked all the way through on the interior. This time she just ate around the raw part and left the rest. Service was good and they were nice enough to give us a discount on our meal for the undercooked fish trouble, but our bill was still $100+. Expect an atmosphere more akin to a full service cafeteria hall or crab house– fun with friends to drink and hangout (though conversing might be difficult) but not the best for dining with those you want to date, impress, or have some more serious conversations with."

"At least once a week, I take a night off from cooking. This week, my husband and I really wanted something new, a place that we haven 't tried yet and we landed on Peppervine. This was during the week and later in the evening so when got there, we were able to get a table on the patio with no wait. The weather here in Charlotte has been amazing this past week and it 's too lovely to be inside. The patio at Peppervine feels like a secluded little haven. The glass-enclosed fire pit was going and the atmosphere was lively so the evening was wonderful from the get-go. Surveying the wine menu, I noticed an option to be surprised with a glass of wine chosen for you. As it turned out, the wine was chosen by the General Manager and Wine Director for Peppervine, Tommy. He brought a glass of Portuguese Vinho Verde and explained the characteristics of the wine and why it feels, on the palate, like it 's slightly effervescent. Tommy is charming and the wine was delightful. We moved on to ordering, and the preference at Peppervine is that you order all at once and they stage your meal for you. It was nice to order and be done with it. It was staged very well, and our service was excellent. We started with pimento scones, fried oysters from the menu, and their tuna tartare which was a special that evening. All three were perfectly balanced and hit the right notes of savory, bright pops of acidity, combinations of textures, and being very visually appealing. We were a little indulgent on the apps so I went with a small plate for my entre and chose the Spanish Octopus. It is a flavor explosion in the best possible way. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender accompanied by a beautiful carrot romesco, fingerling potatoes, thinly sliced brussels sprouts, and crispy bits of chorizo. The chorizo and harissa give it just a kiss of spice that, for me, make it something truly special. I cannot recommend Peppervine enough, and we will definitely be going back! Soon."

"We joined friends for a light dinner before a performance at the neighboring Joyce Theater. Our first server filled our water glasses and then never returned to our table. Another server eventually arrived after we asked what we presumed was the manager to have someone come and take our order. Our server was pleasant enough and seemed amenable to getting our orders to the table so that we'd have plenty of time in advance of the show (we arrived 1.25 hours in advance of showtime .Our table of 5 just ordered a collection of starter dishes, three of which were relatively simple salads. Two of our party ordered a glass of wine each. The bar wasn't busy at all but the wine took at least 20 minutes to arrive. Our simple food order took nearly 40 minutes to arrive and we had to check a couple of times with the manager as we could not get the attention of our server despite the fact that the restaurant was only moderately busy. Our food was okay but our appetizer salads were stuffed into bowls that were far too small making it a challenge to eat without spilling the contents on to the table. Our fries were fine (but really, who screws up french fries? . I can't comment on the entree meals but there was nothing particularly noteworthy about our starter meals. The restaurant has a clean and contemporary appearance but is very loud and cramped. It was a hot day and several of our party were feeling the heat (sliding window panels were open and ceiling fans were on but this was not enough to make it comfortable on this particularly hot day .We've visited plenty of smaller restaurants around NYC and nearly all of them had pretty decent if not excellent service and in many cases exceeded our food expectations both in preparation and presentation. Seamore's is a notable exception for a fairly new NYC restaurant. Exceptionally poor service, no apparent management, cramped tables (do not take a table in the middle of the restaurant , and a run-of-the mill food experience. Avoid this restaurant unless you have no issue with exceedingly slow service (even when it's not particularly busy and have no problem paying a premium price for decent but otherwise pretty average food. The very substandard service may be a consequence of the difficulty restaurants are having getting qualified front of house staff. The owners should nonetheless do themselves a favor and replace pretty much all the managerial and wait staff in this restaurant. Couldn't be much worse than what's already there."
