"my friend and I had just left a concert in watch and immersed in this place as it was near the L train. we were dressed for the jazz music- the restaurant itself is sweet/casual. Unfortunately, it was eating and the wine was both bad. I had oysters who tasted as if they were stored inappropriately - either they were left too long or they were stored under or on ice because they were very, very cold and almost frozen in the middle. I work in restaurants and am familiar with oyster handling/storage, so it is very obvious to me when someone has muddled and mistreated other seas. the first glass wee I had, the cote du rhône, also tasted stale. Consequently, I have both returned articles that I almost never do, but incorrectly stored shellfish can pose a serious health risk. I told my waiter I'd pay for everything because I didn't want to cause a scene. Nevertheless, the manager came out with a Citranella deposit for the restaurant oyster in her hand and insisted that they regularly order fresh oysters. I had to explain to her that it was probably a problem as they had saved them if it wasn't distributed to her. it was a very unpleasant experience that the manager interrogates me about my choice not to eat bad oysters. I would never recommend this restaurant after this experience."
