"I dined at this restaurant in 2009 and had a terrible experience. Unfortunately, I found myself dining there again in 2023. I am baffled as to how it is still operating. The food was bland, overpriced, and of low quality. Proceed at your own risk, but consider yourself warned. Take out service for dinner, with an average price of $10–20 per person. Food, service, and atmosphere were all rated as 1 out of 5."

"Asian Pearl is hands down one of the best spots on the island for delicious Asian food! My bf loves Chinese while I'm a sushi lover so this restaurant is perfect because they have a HUGE menu with selections in Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine. I have never had a bad experience in the last few years I been ordering. Whenever I call for a pickup order their is usually a young man or woman who answers and they're always so polite and read your order back to you, which so many places don't do it so I love that they do! Food is always ready promptly and always delicious! Highly reccomend coming here!"

"I ordered wings and pork fried rice for my first visit, along with a Snapple. Unfortunately, the rice was hard and tasted like it was several days old, the chicken was mushy and overly greasy, and my Snapple was four months past its expiration date. I ended up having to throw away the entire meal since everything seemed old and reheated. When I asked for a refund, they required me to return the meal, even though it was the next day. I would never recommend this place to anyone; it was dirty, with items left scattered on the floor, and the soda fridge was covered in some sort of white substance. This establishment definitely needs to be shut down."

"The food is served hot, especially their chicken wings, which are fantastic and the perfect size. I tried their lemonade in a pint-sized plastic cup with a lid, and it was absolutely delicious—I found myself drinking half of it before I even realized! Usually, the food is ready when you arrive, but this time there were a few new staff members, so my order was made fresh when I got there. The wait wasn’t too long, and I really enjoyed my meal. You definitely get your money’s worth here. It’s one of the best restaurants around, and whenever my family comes to visit, it’s one of the first places they want to go!"

"Very disappointed. I spend about $300 a month on take out from this location. I do ask for dishes prepared a certain way. Sometimes they are spot on, other times not so much. I have had the occasional hiccup on wrong items placed in my order or items not prepared as requested, and I have dealt with it. This time it was a bit much, given the increased prices in take out these days. Recently I was given an incorrect item that was over $10. I live over 15 minutes away. I had to drive back, return the wrong item and all I was offered was an apology and a free egg roll. I was insulted by the offer. I have worked in retail services for 4 decades. If I get a customer order wrong, I would minimally offer a credit for the item (whether the customer keeps the wrong item or returns it), or give them a courtesy gift card or perhaps a discount on a future order. I received nothing but sorry. This tells me the customer is less important than the bottom line. It forces me to rethink where I spend my money on take out. This bad experience could have been turned around if the location had done the right thing and bore the cost of the mistake instead of expecting me to suck it up and accept the wasted gas and time to return it."

"I frequently visit this restaurant. Since the pandemic, the prices have increased and the food quality has significantly decreased. However, they still offer a great variety of dishes. I enjoy their seafood soup and shrimp. They also serve a wide selection of fresh fruits and desserts. The restaurant is clean and the service is fast. It's easy to find a table on weekdays, although there may be a short wait on weekends sometimes. Overall, the wait is not usually very long."

"Friendly and fast service. Little disappointed by how bland my fried wonton and egg rolls are. I know most folks drown these in sauce so to them it probably doesn 't matter. The general tso 's is VERY sweet and only a little spicy. And my fried dumplings seem like they were steamed and then showed what a frying pan looks like. The white rice is great, it 's amazing how much white rice can vary. Generally typical basic Chinese food.Maybe I got my hopes up because of the high rating and the large amount of customers who came in right at opening today. I just happened to be in the area and like trying random Chinese places since my favorite place closed.The food is good quality and satisfying, just not made to my tastes. I 'd give this place another shot next time I 'm in middletown, but I would skip the fried stuff and specifically request my general tso 's to be spicier and with less sugar."

"One of the worst Chinese food experiences we have had in CT. Ordered General Tso chicken for my college aged son who took a couple of bites and pushed it away saying “nope”. So I tried it and tasted like sugar and fried cornstarch with a way too sweet sauce. No vegetables came with it… just globs of this gooey stuff and hardly any chicken inside the globs. I mean, this is a basic and common American Chinese dish not known being super healthy but eating this is guaranteed to take days off your life. There are other Chinese establishments nearby that serve same dish and you can taste the chicken, less sugary and comes with broccoli. This was a one star experience."

"For lunch I ordered an egg roll, some beef lo my and rice. I'm very impressed! The vegetables were crispy, the beef was juicy, and there was plenty of sauce in the lo mine to cover my noodles, vegetables and beef, and still some to use for my rice. I even reheated my leftovers for dinner and it's still amazing! The prices are very fair for the portion sizes, and I will definitely make this place a regular lunch center of mine."
