"NOTE: This review is from my experience at Frannie's concession stand at the Taste of Chicago on 09/07/2024. I had the lemonade Italian ice. 5/5. It was delicious. Slightly too sweet, but I loved the interesting silky texture as it melted on my tongue. And lemonade is my favorite drink, so I was very happy to see they had it on the menu in Italian ice form. I wish they made the serving a little bigger. I was not offered/suggested other sizes, so if they were available, I was not made aware. Staff was friendly and the stand stood out and had good marketing. I will need to visit a location to try the street food. I will do a follow up review."

"My father have lived in Franklin Park over 20 years and I live in the city. Every time my father buy tickets to take me and the kids to the monster truck show in Rosemont, we eat here first. This is the best pizza I’ve ever had! Super large for myself and family, I think I love the fact that it’s real authentic Italian pizza!!!! We love it here, so addicted! The owners are super nice! "Review Date: December 23rd, 2012 Pizza the size of the hood of your car! Seriously. This place specializes in offering a pizza the size of the hood of your car. It is a massive 30″ pizza! Could you imagine how long it would take to eat that?! A friend told me about this place and their $5 deal. The $5 meal will get you a JUMBO slice of pizza and a soda. The slice is taken from one of their 30″ pizza, so you are getting slice that is probably 13″ long. Plus a soda with free refills (at the time of my visit) to boot. They do offer a fairly large menu to choose from, if you do not desire pizza. The place is tucked away behind Bradley University. One can only imagine how popular this place has to be for broke college students or for those who are throwing some college parties. While we were there, we saw some students come by and grab a jumbo pizza and load it in their trunk. Yes, their trunk. Yes, they made it fit. Sure, it’s a bit of a novelty and the pizza slice, in my opinion, was only decent… But it’s definitely a place to visit at least once and spend the $5 on the combo meal."

"After reading the reviews, I wasn't aware that you had to order inside before picking up your food at the window. However, the gentleman at the counter let me order at the window without mentioning the usual process at all. The Chicago dog "dragged through the garden," topped with vinaigrette cucumbers, was absolutely delicious! The fries were just how I like them—thick and crispy. Even the Coke had the perfect balance of syrup and carbonation. I felt great supporting this local spot over Portillo's down the street. It's important to keep our mom-and-pop food stands thriving; they really add to the charm of the Chicago suburbs!"

"We received the most thoughtful and amazing Welcome Basket from “Celebrate our Town” and in it were coupons for Charlie’s Place so we made it a point to try it out. We were so happy we did! It’s not your typical quick/fast food, but homemade. It was great and the service was fantastic! It’s a homey and a very comfortable atmosphere. The sweetest and kindest lady took care of us and made sure we were happy with everything. Hard to find service like that anymore. Definitely recommend it!"

"I have ordered from this place for years. Every time I requested parm cheese on the side, it was never inside the bag. Today I placed my order through ubereats and I called the restaurant to please add parmesan packages on the side. The girl on the phoneexplained I had to pay 25 Cents for the parm cheese. I kindly asked them to charge my card through my uber eats order. (I knowthey could?ve contacted ubereats and added the extra quarter ???? There was no option for parm cheese in the app) she refused toadd the packages and stated the boss had explained to her that if I didn?t pay the 25 cents they wouldn?t add it to my delivery.They have got to be kidding me ????"

The salad had all the typical ingredients—romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and olives—everything you’d expect in a Greek salad. "I ordered 2 pasta dinners, 1 was lasagna with extra meat balls, it was fresh made, the sauce was very tasty. The issue I had with this item the the container was over flowing and soaked the bottle of the bag. Maybe the meatballs should have went in a different container. Luckily I put it on the floor of the car with had a mat, if I put it on my seat, there would have been a cleaning bill to discuss. The 2nd pasta dish was Chicken Pomodoro, the pasta was dry, the chicken was dry. To me it was not fresh made, but my guess, reheated. The was my 2nd visiting Villa Rosa, the 1st time was a pizza, which was awesome. I will go back again."

"Whenever we visit the Chicago area, we always make sure to stop by at Portillo’s. We have never been let down. "I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant, whether abroad or back home in Ireland. The rudeness was shocking—there was no communication whatsoever, just some disdainful looks as I was overlooked. For the record, I wasn’t out of place or looking disheveled, just a bit fatigued from traveling. This establishment deserves one star because I can't give it zero. "During my first visit to Chicago, I had to try the famous Chicago-style hot dog. Based on what I’d heard and seen around the city, Portillo's was the place to go. The atmosphere inside is really vibrant; there’s something new to see every moment. The place is quite large and moves quickly. Although there was a long line and no seating available, we managed to get our food and find a table in no time. The price for the delicious hot dog was reasonable too. In the photo, you can see the Jumbo version, which I would highly recommend!"

"Best pizza in Bellwood! It's cheesy, saucy, and absolutely delicious. The service is amazing, and they even have a drive-through window. The tissue cheese, parmesan, and paprika are top-notch. I also received a complimentary soda because I was friendly! The lady at the drive-through was fantastic—really extraordinary customer service. I will definitely be back. I work at the local pharmacy, and we always order from here, but this was my first time trying it out!"

"absolutely not recommend! So I came through the front door and fell on the floor. at some point, slipped into the carpet. I asked to speak to a manager, and they said that only the "assistent manager" was there. So when she comes forward, I tell her, I just walked through the door and literally busted my asss! the so-called “Assistent Manager” looked confused about what to talk about and she went to see what I mean and put the Dont-Slip sign in the opposite where it should be. So I asked her what we could do about it. she said I'm sorry in a non-chalant wise, as if I just brushed it off. I asked about the general manager number and she comes back and said she will pay for my food. I literally just said ok and went away because the "assistent manager" is a sweat. I have no other friend. the people I had ordered and paid for their food. it is the principle that she wants to act nonchalant and I fell on the floor while the restaurant was under her watch. I will not return. they lost my business because of their so-called/wannabe/supposed to “Assistent Manager.” I take care of my respect, the way I treated more than a few free foods. I was right to be angry. I should be able to go to a restaurant and eat something without falling and yes, they finally hacked after I complained."

"Where do I begin? The staff is friendly, the food is always hot and tastes so great. The pick up time is always as told. I've been eating there pizza for years. If I worked there, I'd eat even more of their pizza than I do now. I can eat a whole pizza and not think twice. I would highly recommend their pizza and if you're new to the area or visiting, please try them. They always have specials on their website and any food you get will make you want more. Their hours of operations are awesome. They are open late and it allows me to get a wonderful meal after a long day. I can't recommend them enough."
