"Quite an interesting little place it was packed when I arrived, but they had a table set aside for me. Service was top notch friendly, attentive (without being pushy and on top of a busy Saturday night crowd. Much of the seating is counter style seating, to give you a good open view of most of the 25 TV 's that line the walls. The crowd thinned out when the popular game ended, and sure enough the jukebox immediately went to Take me home, country roads and 100+ sport fan chorus sang along ...to the place, I belong...WEST VIRGINIA, Mountain Mama . When I think of sports bars, Greek food isn 't the place my mind immediately goes, but they make it work with a nice blend of Greek American hybrids like Gyro Mac Cheese (quite tasty , deep fried Feta and Greek Stuffed Mushrooms (my favorite! . The mushrooms had a nice firm tasty texture, the stuffing was delicious with the addition of the gyros, were coated in cheese, and baked to perfection. Everything 's better with cheese : The dolmathes were a tad disappointing understuffed, drowned in olive oil, and the veins in the grape leaves refused to sever either with a bite or a knife. Because of that, they didn 't work well as finger food or fork knife I had to tear them apart. Because of that, it was difficult to taste the nuances of flavor I normally expect from dolmas. The wine list was simple about 8 house wines (all Mondavi , four higher end reds and four whites plus about a dozen choices by bottle only. They were out of the one Greek wine on their menu (Mavrodaphne , so I settled for a decent Mark West Pinot Noir. I 'm not a beer drinker, so you 're on your own as to how good their beer selections are, but there seemed to be plenty of beer, wine and spirits flowing and everyone was having a good time. But about those Stuffed Mushrooms....I could have made a meal out of just those."

"I last reviewed Ferah Tex-Med a year ago. Much can change in a year and I thought it was time for a second review. We hd a friend coming to town and wanted to offer something different from the normal steaks, Tex-Mex and burgers, Ferah Tex-Med fit nicely with a Texas twist on traditional Mediterranean food and we could make a reservation on OpenTable. We started with the The Chef’s Sampler Platter and cocktails. The bartender mixologies has a few specialities and on this visit I tried the Forbidden Margarita it was very good and I liked the Pomegranate seeds in the drink. The Chef’s Sampler was enough to share for four people and a great way to sample many of the appetizers. All of the items were very good. Two in our party selected the Fresh Herbed Gnocchi pasta and the only complaint I hear was it was too much. Both took the leftovers home. I tried the Ferah 10 Spice Chicken, the chicken thigh was good and fork tender but the star was the Jalapeño Orzo, which had more of a kick then I anticipated. It was excellent. The only issue with the meal was we ordered too much food to save room for Turkish Coffee Creme Brûlée. This is our favorite dessert, really the only one we’ve tried. Some day we may get around to ordering another dessert, but we are going to have to pace ourselves. You can’t just talk about the food at a restaurant, many people are looking for atmosphere and service. Ferah’s has never disappointed on the atmosphere or the service and last night was no exception. You h=could have a conversation with out shouting even with the restaurant about 3 4 full in the main dining room. Unfortunately I can’t remember our servers name but they always seem to know when to stop by and check on us. One of these Sundays we will try the brunch but this is one of our goto places in Southlake."

"Ok...Peno is the real deal all around! Recently grabbed lunch here since I had a hankering for an authentic, Greek Gyro. Since options in Wilmington appear to be very limited with Mediterranean Middle-Eastern eateries, Peno has a nice reputation for delivering wonderful food and fast, pleasant service...consistently. I completed on an online order for pickup, using mobile pay, ready in 15 mins and bypassed a wait in a very busy S. College location. FOOD: The Greek Gyro. My dear Lord this thing is monstrous, packed, stuffed and every other type of condensing word you can use. The combination of beef lamb meat, marinated and cooked wonderfully, melts in your mouth. Combine this robust flavor with fresh feta cheese, black olives, house-made tzatziki sauce, red onion and the oh-so fresh pita bread...and then deliver that same pita bread with the freshest hummus I've ever had...and you're in bliss. Refreshing bites combined with light cooking oils will take your palate into Mediterranean utopia. SCORE: 5 STARS!! SERVICE: Here's the interesting thing about this brief visit. Not only was my food hot, prepared ready inside a packed bag at the cashier's station, but it was also done with a pleasant tone of voice and smile by the young lady. To your right at this same station, there is a framed, marketing poster hanging on the wall, showing a photo of the founder and owner of Peno, Jamal Haddad with his quote and vision statement. Then as I look to my left on the grill...is Jamal, himself, hustling and setting the example of hard work and being part of the team he helped build and create, himself. He was smiling and full of energy in the thick of lunch hour without missing a beat of taking care of the customers. This is admirable and highly respected. I was thanked for stopping in, asked to enjoy my lunch and off I went. Fast service, hot food and efficient service. SCORE: 5 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: Somehow, some way, Jamal has pieced together quite the small franchise and is excelling well at it. I have only tried this location and not the other few stores around Wilmington, but if I were to take an educated guess, one would think that Jamal's leadership team is well-trained and I would trust the same quality of food and service if I dined at another location. Well done and well deserved. 5 STARS!!"
