"Gordon Ramsay once remarked that the best breakfasts in the world can be found in America, and I couldn’t agree more after my visit to Maison Mathis. I stopped by this popular eatery while visiting Yale University just before Christmas and was thoroughly impressed. The hot drinks and perfectly poached eggs made the wait worthwhile. I started with a London Fog, which was expertly made and topped with a delightful frothy foam. For my main course, I chose the avocado Benedict. It featured toasted English muffins generously covered in hollandaise sauce, capers, tomatoes, fresh avocado slices, and those perfectly poached eggs. Having tried to achieve that level of perfection myself, I truly appreciate when a chef succeeds. I left the diner both energized and satisfied, having had the pleasure of dining at New Haven's best breakfast spot."
