"I’m writing a review as think the food is excellent however my 2 star review is for the pricing. They changed the menu and the prices have skyrocketed. Ordered a pizza today the Proper Pepperoni which is equivalent to a personal size and it was $25, with tax and tip close to $29. This is in my opinion way overpriced. As mentioned food is good but the prices do not reflect the location in Newtown Square and in a shopping center. Menu is very overpriced!"

"eating here is about the worse. I do not recommend buying anyone here. a few years ago, before the pandemic hit food were great. I have even recommended employees. during the pandemic the dinges become quite bad where eating no longer tastes properly. I don't know if they have a new cook or what. not enough salt or any salt at all in my last order of over $60. a few times I spent over $110, but eating was literally rubbish. the sweet sour crispy fried fish was not a whole fish as in their menu image, but a substitute talapia or cheap catfish fillet. two pieces less than a pound for $20. portion was tiny and filled with a cut of each meat. the place is cheap on everything. I've made too many mistakes, and this time it'll be my last time to spend money here. sushi is a sweat! it is a Chinese takeout and hardly a place for Japanese cuisine."

"I've had the pleasure of visiting this place twice, and I'd like to share my thoughts:The ramen was absolutely delicious during my first visit, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark the second time around.I thoroughly enjoyed the bao buns, veggie rolls, pan-fried gyoza, and dumplings. They were all delicious. My husband was particularly fond of the tuna tataki and hamachi, and my niece couldn't get enough of the plantain roll.During our last visit, we were attended to by Juan Diego, who added a lively touch to our dining experience with his excellent customer service. He even serenaded my niece with a birthday song, which was a nice surprise. However, there was a slight issue with the bill as we paid half with a card and half in cash. I wasn't entirely sure if Juan Diego received the full tip he deserved, as I'm not the best with numbers, but I opted to enter the highest amount on the card machine.On our initial visit, Alejandro took care of me and my husband, and he was equally sweet and attentive.The atmosphere here is family-oriented and casual. During my first visit on a weekend, it was quite crowded, but on my second visit on a Monday night, it was surprisingly empty, with only about four parties present.One piece of advice: arrive with a hearty appetite because the dining experience here is unlimited, and it's well worth it."

"I tried the Lava roll, which is a fried sushi containing shrimp, cream cheese, and avocado. It was a bit spicier than I anticipated; I had requested to have the spicy mayo left off, but a little was still on the roll. I thought this wouldn't be an issue, but I’m quite sensitive to spice. Despite that, the sushi was still delicious, so don’t let my aversion to spice sway you from visiting this lovely restaurant. They also offer coconut shrimp as an appetizer, which is fantastic! Overall, it's a great sushi spot with tasty food and friendly staff. I’ll definitely come back here before trying other sushi places, and I recommend you do the same!"

"I had a pulled pork sandwich for lunch yesterday to compare Sloppy Mama's offering with a BBQ place I recently visited in Ashburn during a bike ride on the W&OD Trail. Wow! This pulled pork sandwich was incredible. The pork was smoky, juicy, and piled nearly two inches high, sitting on pickles and coleslaw in a fresh, soft bun. It was absolutely delicious—the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. Additionally, they offer six different sauces to complement the pork, and they now serve beer and wine. Fantastic!"

"I wanted to like this place, the sushi/roll was fine and the tempura was okay as well (nothing special but alright for the price) but I ordered an oyakodon and got something that was totally not that.Oyakodon is one of my favorite rice bowl orders at a Japanese restaurant so I know it is usually a breaded cutlet or katsu sitting on a saucy scrambled egg with onion scallion. They served me a pan-seared boneless chicken thigh with a side of cabbage, carrot and radish and a fried egg on top — no sauce either. I was so confused when I got it that I couldn’t even complain. I thought to myself, maybe this is a different type of oyakodon? But as I was eating I also Googled what an oyakodon is just to confirm and there is NOTHING that looks like what I was served. It honestly did not even taste close to any other oyakodon I’d ever eaten. Truly confused, it felt like they didn’t even know their own menu item and maybe hastily searched what an oyakodon was. It would hVe been alright with me if the meal was flavorful but it just didn’t taste like much else than barely seasoned grilled chicken and veggies. I personally hate food waste so I took 2 bites and packed the rest because from the first strange bite I decided I would just turn it into a fried rice at home.On top of that, the service was pretty lackluster. I’m not asking for much but no one ever refilled our waters despite eating there for at least 30-40 mins (this is a big service industry no-no) and it was difficult to get anyone’s attention at all for even asking for the check. I have experience in both a professional kitchen setting and the food service industry and was honestly disappointed."

After waiting for quite a while, I had to flag down a waitress just to get some sushi ordered. I ended up waiting 35 minutes and had to get up again to see if my order was ready—or even started; it wasn’t. I spent a total of two hours there, and it was clear that they prioritize takeout orders over customers dining in. In the end, I asked for my bill and left. I would not recommend dining here—the service was terrible. IF YOU WANT FOOD FROM THIS PLACE, JUST ORDER TO GO!"

"I wanted to check out this restaurant because they recently added Nashville hot chicken to their menu, and it caught my attention. I went for the mild version, and it had the perfect level of heat for me. It definitely made my nose run a bit, but I didn't break a sweat. The flavor was delicious, and the chicken was thick, juicy, and tender. The seasonings were just right, too. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely order it again. It was poorly made, lacking the necessary balance of vinegar and sweetness. The texture was subpar, and the rice grains were clumpy and sticky, which is unacceptable for a place that claims to specialize in sushi. It seemed as though the chefs lacked the necessary expertise in preparing this fundamental component of Japanese cuisine.Moving on to the scampi tempura, it was a complete disaster. The shrimp was over-fried, resulting in a bitter and unpleasant taste. The dish was a far cry from the light and crispy tempura that one would expect from a sushi restaurant.To make matters worse, we decided to try the lobster roll, only to be met with a deep-fried monstrosity. Deep-frying lobster is sacrilege in the world of sushi. The delicate flavors of the lobster were completely overshadowed by the heavy batter, resulting in a greasy and unappetizing mess. It was clear that the restaurant lacked an understanding of the delicate balance and subtlety that make sushi such a revered cuisine.What added insult to injury was the attitude of the staff. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction with the food, the lady serving us seemed disinterested and completely ignored our concerns. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to disregard customer feedback, especially when it is evident that the dining experience was far below expectations.As a result of our disappointment and the lack of attentiveness from the staff, we made the difficult decision to leave no tip for the very first time. It is unfortunate that the restaurant failed to meet even the most basic standards of quality and customer service.The table was dirty with grease marks from the cleaning cloth. The AC was either on very low or turned off.In conclusion, my dining experience at this sushi restaurant was an absolute letdown. From the lackluster and poorly prepared food to the dismissive attitude of the staff, there was little redeeming about the visit."

"I stopped by for takeout after a visit to the nearby medical building. Very convenient with no crowd to fight with. I ordered the pork belly bahn mi which was indeed delicious. It was a good authentic representatation of a modern bahn mi, but the star of the show was their Vietnamese chicken soup. Similar to Arroz Caldo (Filipino chicken soup) I actually enjoyed this version much more (and I am Filipino LOL). Yes, I would hella come back just for this! Highly recommended low key spot."
