"I warned last february a surprise party for my father and, after I had never sung in tavern from the green, I was a bit nervous about the quality of eating. Now, let me just say that eating was phenomenal! I think I'm a bit a food critic, and I was thrilled with not only eating, but the entire service. I woke up, on the day after the party, disturbing to finish the rest that were packed for us! Even now, as I write this review, I greet. Beyond that, I was not the only one who saved the food. all guests were very impressed by the delicious food and I give john, his staff and the cook, 5 bright stars. Thank you. john for everything! I will be back for another event as soon as I have another plan!"

"We have tried this spot several times over the many years we visit the area, through many management changes with mixed results. Fortunately the current team seems to have gotten it right- many food choices from small plates to full entrees with everything we ordered being very good. On top of that, moderate prices and good service made for a very pleasant experience."

"We had reservations and were seated promptly at this restaurant. We tried the salmon cakes and loaded tomato pie, both of which were very good. The hummingbird cake was more like a fruit bread and was delicious. The prices are on the higher side, typical of a resort town. We recommend making reservations several days in advance. Additionally, they had a singer performing during our visit."

"My husband and I went to Looney's Pub a week ago today, March 16, 2020 to attend University of Maryland's Head Basketball Coach's show with The Maryland's Sports Voice Johnny Holliday. We were very impressed and pleased with the Venue. Our server was very attentive even though she had many full tables. The drinks were great. Our Hamburgers were just ok. Obviously, they were not freshly made. They were from frozen premade meat. We compare this Sports Bar to our favorite place, Crystal City Sports Pub in Arlington, Virginia. Looney's Pubs could improve their food in our opinion."

"Came here for brunch with a party of so we were able to try a lot of items on their brunch menu. Their pancakes are so fluffy and tastes phenomenal just the right amount of crispy edges, buttery, and topped with strawberry buttercream! The coffee was good, but their teas all taste like water. We were happy with their Egg Benedict variations and selection (although the eggs came out cold) and the duck confit hash was good to share. Unfortunately, their service was absolutely HORRENDOUS... the older lady at the front (i assume to be the owner) was beyond rude! I waited minutes just to be acknowledged, and even though she saw me, she kept ignoring me. Finally when I walked up, she made an face and said ok, you need to move We were seated by another server at the back room, so I didn't see her again during my meal. It seems like they are understaffed, so some food came out cold and their service was very slow. The servers were not rude but lifeless, probably because they're all so tired and overworked!"

"Looneys has always been generous to the community, and that’s something to appreciate. The atmosphere is great, whether you're looking for a dining experience or a bar/sports vibe. I've been there for many lunches and a few St. Patrick's Day celebrations. The servers are friendly, and the food earns a solid four stars. However, on St. Patrick's Day, the buffet was a bit disappointing, despite the promise of variety. Nonetheless, I will definitely keep returning for lunch and dinner."

"This was our first dining experience here and we were very excited to try this place. Unfortunately it was not the experience we hoped. We started off with the scallops for an appetizer $30) the appetizer is 4 bites looks like 2 scallops cut into 4). The scallops were cooked fine, but the black bean and avocado cilantro sauce overpowers the flavor of the scallops. For dinner we ordered the filet medium $60) and the Branzino $44) for our main, and the eggplant $8) and cauliflower $14) for a side. The filet is as the most disappointing. It was half overcooked and then served sliced 3 slices and not a whole filet). Since it was cut you have to rely on the sauce for flavor since all the juices would have ran out. The branzino did have good flavor, unfortunately the amount of bones will keep you pulling bones out of your mouth the entire meal. So if your on a date and would like to avoid that visual don’t order it. The cauliflower was ok but I would not recommend that as a dinner item like it’s listed. Thankfully my wife decided to order it as a side instead of her full dinner. Finally the eggplant dish was so chopped up that I couldn’t even tell it was eggplant. I expected some heat to it since it listed habanero in it, but there was zero heat. Overall, very disappointed in the food from a cost/value perspective. I will say the music selection was good, the service was great, and the ambiance was ok. It was a little noisy earlier with people watching the Browns game in the loft area above the restaurant."

"Parking was easy. Signs to restaurant still had name of previous business, so a little confusing finding the entrance. Waitresses were friendly and efficient. Outdoor dining was pleasant with good view of the marina. I enjoyed my meal. I ordered a pasta dish with scallops and asparagus. Delicious. Ice cream dessert was yummy. My enjoyed her veal Marsala. My cousin had a fish dish (I forget which fish). He didn’t enjoy it. Said it had a sour and unpleasant taste. All in all, a mostly good experience. I would give it another try."

"We were very "underwhelmed" by our experience on Valentine's Day.When we arrived, the staff seemed frazzled... even early in the evening, before they got busy. Our server was excellent, but it took over minutes to get our salad prix fixe menu. We had to inquire about it to jump start them, it seemed. There were also some inconsistencies between the menu description and the dinners they served as if they'd messed up their shopping list and made some last minute substitutions. Not a big deal, just another indicator of their disorganization?The historic house was cool, but the ambiance was not great, with an extremely loud and annoying couple over our shoulder. Can't blame the restaurant for this, of course, but it really highlighted how there was nothing in the furnishings to help control the noise, even in normal circumstances.The real issue is that their food and drink just were not memorable in any way. Their "signature drinks" were not worth the cost, and the tomato broth really looked and tasted like Campbell's tomato soup. We agreed afterwards that the best parts of the meal were the rollsbutter and the dessert. However, even the beignets were too brown and seemed on the verge of shouldn't having been served.Bottom line we felt like we could have done better ourselves at home"

"We wanted to try Rocco's for some authentic Italian food in Madison and be able to have a glass of wine along with our meal. Rocco's is a cross between a pizza parlor and a sports bar. We waited a bit for the waiter to come and greet us, we ordered our drinks and food. The dishes were good, nothing stood out as fantastic or above the ordinary Italian dishes you can get at many local spots. When we were finished we got the dessert menus and had to wait for a long time before the waiter came back to take our dessert order. All in all it was an okay experience and we might go back sometime to see if the service was just bad on that night or if it is an ongoing problem."

"Made a reservation for $200 deposit on open table. Upon being seated we are told $500 minimum on food. order it or you get billed anyway. So we lived it up and got about 3 of everything on the menu. An additional $200 was put on our bill bringing it to over $800 with the included tip. Told us the open table $200 would be reimbursed. We will see. Very poor service. Food finally showed 20 min before our slotted time expired. 2 hr slot. Tried to get us out in 1.5. Food was not very good except for the steak and truffle Mac n chz. That was actually amazing. small portions. Loved the snow globe atmosphere on the rooftop and only reason we booked. One time only for us. Way overpriced and ridiculous. The $200 should’ve been a credit towards the $500 minimum required for new years. Nathan the manager really carried for our slacker server, Nick."

"This was the second time I came here. We do not live in NYC so since the time I had a fabulous experience I decided to take my friends there, after telling them how fantastic it was!
