"A friend and I visited on a Friday evening around 9PM and it was very busy. The atmosphere was very lively and people were enjoying karaoke. However, the music from the karaoke was so loud that it was hard for my friend and I to hear each other. When we entered, we were not greeted by the hostess, so we approached her and asked for a table for 2, for which there was a 10 minute wait. Once seated, we noticed that our table was dirty and had to ask for it to be wiped clean. My friend and I ordered margaritas, which were strong but very good. The margaritas get a 10/10. However, we did not receive our drinks until about 30 minutes after we ordered them. This was after I had to flag over a random waitress who was passing by because our waitress had disappeared. Our waitress later returned with our drinks and apologize for “forgetting about them.” The drinks were served in cheap, low quality plastic cups, which fell apart every time i took a sip (see picture.)We waited over an hour for our food and during the wait, no staff ever updated us on the progress of our food or checked up on us. There was one employee, a young boy, who came by our table a few times to sing in our faces with the microphone. But besides him, none of the staff paid us any attention. The restaurant was busy and we expected a wait. However, it’s still important to check on your customers, even if it’s a quick “hi, sorry about the wait. our kitchen is really busy.”The long wait would have been worth it if the food was good. But it was not. I ordered the Sangrias quesadilla (chicken, shrimp, steak, onions, and peppers) and it was horrible. Cold, terribly under-seasoned and all of the meats were tough and overcooked. The side of rice was hard and unseasoned. My friend had the shrimp quesadilla, which she did not enjoy either. The karaoke temporarily kept us occupied while we were waiting for our food and drinks. However, waiting over an hour for our food while having to listen to karaoke that was way too loud eventually just gave us a headache. The only positive thing I experienced during my visit was the margarita.Pepe’s down the street has better food, service, and atmosphere."

"We wanted authentic Mexican food and this place had high reviews. It was a few blocks from Downtown Phoenix with a moderately large parking lot. You can dine inside with table service or you can call and pick up as by picking up only parking at the entrance. At the entrance you can see the kitchen area in sight, there are several tables that you can sit at and when small bar can sit in the corner. The music was good that I wanted to dance (LOL ; but must have been on a loop as we heard twice in the hour we have eat dinner. We just managed to enjoy the last 5 minutes of happy hour. I chose a traditional margarita that was surprisingly delicious and not too brownish. The Hubby has a corona. The children got horchatas that were really good and seemed to have free refills. The bathrooms: are locked as they are for customers only per sign on each bathroom. The bathroom of women was very clean and good with real toilet paper and not the rough commercial toilet paper. Food / meals: The children shared a bean burrito made from real flour tortilla (approx. 14 and not bought a thick ameeican store, the beans were delicious, they used white cheese that was great. The hubby got carne asada afteros that came with three different types of tortilla chips (red spicy yellow corn blue corn, pinto beans, pico de gallo, jalapeños, acid cream, white melted cheese guacamole. In an attempt to stay away from the Carbs, I joined the menu called a Carne asada shell. In the end it was not a bowl and was a cup of unwiss red rice with about 1/2 cup of equally unfortunate Carne Asada, Guacamole pico de gallo, which was served on the inner circle of a nine inch plate. I added some salt to it a little more taste and that helped a bit. Total $40... definitely not bad. The service: we only saw two boys cook in the back and a young woman who was our waitress. She usually seemed to speak Spanish, but now and then we would tell her something in English. She was very friendly and patient with the children."

"I love the Pho Special here. the broth is really pleasant and then they can adjust it with hoisin and Siracha sauce when they choose this. pho is my comfort food, it feels really good after a long day or a bad day or even a day over. I also tried some of the other dishes and thought that they were usually pretty good. the service is excellent for what it is, but given the other “service” complain here they let me explain and clarify what seems to be going on. the 2 times I came, there were the same 1 server handling orders to bring out eating, as well as bussing tables and cleaning. now of what I have seen is her work ethic fantastic and she works hard and gets eat fast, but she does it all by herself. So my 1 proposal for an improvement is: get her some help. I feel like it's almost unfair to do all this work every day, especially during the busy days / hours. Now don't get wrong if she wants to do all this, then great, but if she wants an assistent, I would definitely recommend getting her an additional server or busser, just to take some of the workload off and optimize the efficiency as the restaurant runs. the server they have now is great, and after all this work, it is still sweet for the customers and finds a way to say bye, have a good day for everyone. all in all I really enjoy this restaurant. I recommend it to people all the time and I believe that this is bound among the best 2 pho restaurants in lubbock."
