"When I ordered, the waitress mentioned that they had a gluten-free pasta option too, but then returned to apologize, stating that they actually had no gluten-free pasta available, other than steak, crab cakes, and another veal dish. I was extremely disappointed, as we were not looking to spend a significant amount of money, but they had a special on a surf and turf, which I decided to order.
The other couple we were with ordered tomato bisque listed on the menu as "Tomato and Crab Bisque." However, the crab was mixed into the tomato bisque, which I found misleading; it should have simply stated “TOMATO CRAB BISQUE.” They had to return the soup since one of them had a crab allergy. Thankfully, the manager comped the bill after acknowledging the misleading menu description.
In the end, we spent over $125 on a meal that didn’t fully satisfy us, and we certainly didn’t drive 45 minutes just to have a steak we could have easily had at Texas Roadhouse. The only highlights of the meal were the company and the mashed potatoes. So if you find yourself in the area, I’d recommend getting a side of mashed potatoes to go. However, we will likely choose to eat at the Green Turtle down the street next time."
