"Never have I ever had such a juicy , tender , flavorful and melt in the mouth kabab. The lentil rice was flavorful, fresh and fragrant. Every grain of rice was soft and fluffy. The spinach, beef and kidney bean stew with rice bring back my childhoodwhen I ate it. On top of that the self serve tea bar was icing on the top. I think I?ve never had such a delicious cup of blacktea. It literally warmed me up and made me feel cozy. The owner is such a cheerful person. He literally greats every guestwhich comes to his restaurant and made them feel welcome. The staff is amazing as well. All in all very nice establishment withgreat food and great ethics."

"I came to Marketplace Grille today for the first time since 2019 and was so happy that it was still the amazing food I remembered. I told my co-worker that outside of my Mom’s home cooked food, this is easily top 3 Mediterranean restaurants in San Diego. I highly recommend the chicken plate or bowl. They cook the chicken kabob on coals, and it’s phenomenal. I would get the herb rice, and always get the side of hummus with the pita bread. It is amazing hummus. Owners and servers are nice, they’ve owned it forever. Great location, very quiet, lots of outdoor tables. This has quickly become my favorite lunch spot in La Jolla."

"Bailey set the tone for a nice lunch up here. Super helpful with sauces, sides (because I'm a tad clueless on this kind of food... so thank you) and made it easy to order. The inside and patio space are kept spotless and that is very nice to walk into. Lots of choices with chicken (wife's fave) and Gyro (mine) and falafel. Salads, wraps, pita, plates... you name it and they have it. My wife's chicken kabob was to tender and delicious with hummus, rice and choice of sauce. Luna is a nice add on to all your regular spots."
