"However, my main complaint about this particular location in Coeur d’Alene, ID, is the poor service. The wait times after being seated, after ordering our appetizer, for the main meal, and finally for the check have been excruciatingly slow. Each time, we find ourselves asking how much longer we will have to wait for our food. Then, we have to wait again for the server to return so we can request the check. There’s no justification for these long delays, especially since we usually arrive in the mid-afternoon. Today, for instance, we visited at 2:30 p.m.
Upon entering, a young man in tight leather pants adorned with chains and studs, whose hair appeared unwashed and unkempt for months, was rather rude to us. After he suggested we sit at a table in front of the bar, my husband nodded in agreement, but I quickly asked for a more comfortable booth in the back. His response was a curt, “Well, that’s why I asked.” He hadn’t actually asked us. His attitude immediately put us off, and we noticed his odd behavior throughout the visit—he rushed around the restaurant in a frantic manner, sometimes shouting or emitting a yelp, which at one point sounded like an expletive.
Our server was a sweet and pleasant young woman who did her best to accommodate us. Although it took a while for our flatbread appetizer to arrive, it came out steaming hot and fresh, just as we remembered. Unfortunately, by the time our black bean burger and fish tacos reached the table, they were lukewarm. Both dishes are very good, and I would recommend them, but don’t expect them to arrive piping hot. I had ordered the tacos during a previous visit, and they were cold when served as well.
The restaurant has several large-screen TVs, and since the Summer Olympics are on, one out of three screens was airing that event while the others showed ESPN with commentators speaking. The TVs had no sound, which meant we had to watch commentators mouthing the words without hearing them, along with the same commercials we've seen countless times.
Going forward, we've decided to call in our orders for pickup, likely just sticking with the flatbreads. For vegetarian options, the choices are quite limited, mainly consisting of salads, some pizzas, a few pasta dishes, and a single bean burger. Most soups are chicken or beef-based. I would estimate that around 20% of the menu offers vegetarian options, excluding desserts, of course. I wanted to order the mac and cheese without bacon, but they were unable to accommodate that request."
