"Not worth the drive. It was nice decor but very hard to have a conversation in the main dining area. The noise level was loud even though there were empty tables. Service was mediocre. Took 30 mins to get drinks and then never asked if we wanted second round or refills and also she brought check as we are eating and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. The outside area looks nice but the bright white lights deterred us from sitting out there. It was like dining with a spot light so bright you couldn't even really enjoy the dock/boats. Food was pretty tasty (Fresh catch redfish and corn/green bean sides were good). We got a side of cheese grits to try but they were cold. Key lime pie, which we took to go since we clearly were being pressured to leave, was very good."

"The mornay sauce for the fried catfish and Carolina crab cakes was way too salty. Appetizer of seafood dip with fried tortilla was very good. My friends shared raw oysters and then the combination platter that contained different types of cooked oyster dishes which they thoroughly enjoyed. I wanted a soup and salad combo but it is not offered after 3 pm. Portions were nice. Did not see nor were offered any dessert options although we were celebrating a friend's birthday."

"We have eaten at two Dot's Diners so far and we haven't been disappointed. Upon walking into the dining area, it's everything you would expect; clean, no overcrowding, spacious and a pleasant atmosphere and no loud/rap music. The waitress was veryprofessional and took care of our every need from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. My son had a meat omelettebreakfast with all the fixings and I had a chef salad with grilled chicken. I had to get a to-go box for my salad that's howlarge it was. I wish there was a Dot's diner on the West Bank."

"On my last day in New Orleans, I ordered the boiled platter, and it was incredible! I had never tried crab before, but as a seafood lover, I was thrilled to experience it. While I had been somewhat disappointed by other meals I had ordered, mainly due to their high prices as typical in tourist spots, this dish was a refreshing exception! It was absolutely worth it! For just $19, I received a generous portion of food, and the quality was fantastic! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting New Orleans who loves seafood, especially crab!"

"For the town it is in, it’s adequate choice. They advertise as a seafood restaurant, and although they have some seafood, that is not their specialty. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. Reasonable prices for average food. We had scallops on pasta, but the pasta was just plain boiled pasta with nothing on it, and a steak. The steak was cooked just as I asked, medium rare. I admit I am biased toward west coast style of cooking, and southern cooking is much different, so my expectations are off for the area."

"Dinner out while the kitchen reno was underway. The Crab au Gratin was excellent! Very cheese and quite tasty. Shrimp Alfredo was good but too many noodles for the shrimp ratio. Best part of the meal was the crusty yet doughy french bread. Service was okay, could have been a little better as it was a Monday evening and it was not that busy. Would recommend Vera's for anyone looking for good seafood."

"This restaurant came highly recommended by several people, and they were absolutely right. The food and service were excellent. It wasn't too crowded for a Friday at 5 PM, but when we left, there were people waiting for tables. I ordered a stuffed seafood potato, and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be returning to Galvez."
