"I put in my debit card for payment. Guy announced the price, then briefly I see that I 'm being charged an extra dollar for running credit. I say, hey, I used debit, it is running me as credit? What 's the deal? He then reaches over the counter *to sign for me*. I then had to actually push his finger off of the customer-facing POS system, where he had made a scrawl for me , so that I could press cancel. He then called over a co-worker who spoke better English, who only said you have to sign. It is same price. I pointed out that I was being charged an extra dollar, and that I would like an explanation. Instead the clerk (apparently overrode my 'cancel ' and charged me. An upcharge of a buck isn 't that much money, but that was at least unethical and at most illegal. (There was no signage that I noticed. I can 't believe the guy reached over the counter to sign my check for me. While I like some of the restaurants in the neighborhood, I will never go back to this bodega."
