"The food was decent, and the portions were quite generous. However, the corned beef skillet was undercooked and lacked flavor. On the bright side, the pancakes were quite good, although they do not offer real maple syrup. The service was quick and attentive, and I enjoyed a lovely window seat with a view of the street. The decor is a bit outdated, but I found it charming and it gave off a classic diner vibe. While I probably wouldn’t return, it’s a suitable spot for a meal that’s passable and won’t upset your stomach."

"I was charged $19 for soup and a handful of fries. The soup clearly say $5.50 on the menu for the larger size. I didn’t see a price for an order of fries but figured everything together would be around $12-$13. When I called to ask what happened after my partner came home with the food they told me they charged me about $12 for the soup alone. I questioned why I wasn’t charged what was on the menu and was told that they only serve soup for that price when you eat in the restaurant. This was not specified on the menu whatsoever, nor was it mentioned to me when I called to order. I was begrudgingly told I could return for a $5 refund but I don’t feel like dragging myself out of bed with the stomach bug. I’ve always gone here because it is convenient but after this experience and the multiple times I’ve found hair in my food (at least 3) I will not be returning."

"1st time and last time going there. I ordered patty melt that suppose to be a melt with grilled onions. When I got it the salad it came with looked disgusting, and instead of grilled onions I got raw onions. When asked to get grilled onions, I got onions that were put in the frier and then brought to me all full of the frying oil. Expensive place for the quality of the food. Ihop is way better than this place and I am not fan of Ihop either. It is way expensive and their ranch sauce was so nasty and on top of that I was not even advised that I would be charged for it either. They took the charge off since I didn't even eat it. It was worse than hidden valley ranch. I hope they get better quality food or better cooks that care about how they cook the food and comes out."

"I really wanted to fall in love with this pizza, and it was definitely a solid New York-style slice. However, the last two inches were undercooked, leaving a doughy, floury taste with the first few bites. Fortunately, once we got past that and reached the properly cooked portions, it was delicious. "The staff was working hard but I waited 10 minutes for a demanding family of 3 to order Are the onions organic? Where are they grown? I want them finely diced not slices.... . After ordering and paying, I was told it would be 20 minutes. I wish they had warned everyone as they came in the front door. After 45 minutes and politely checking twice, I was about to cancel when they came out with my Club Sandwich. The sandwich was excellent with fresh and tasty ingredients. Fast forward a week later...the wait was 10 minutes so I ordered. The cashier asked Here or to-go? . I said we were sitting outside and asked if that was Here . I had been friendly and polite the whole time but he acted annoyed and said, I asked 'Here, or to go ' ! I told him to forget it and walked out. There were 4 others in our group and none of us are going back. Nice job losing customers!!"

"I came to this restaurant after seeing some negative reviews on Google while searching for their closing time. However, I strongly disagree with those who criticized this place. I have been a patron since my student days at SJSU and have always enjoyed their delicious food and excellent service. The menu offers a variety of options ranging from Chinese to Italian cuisine, with breakfast and dinner items available at all times of the day, and everything tastes amazing. The prices are reasonable and the location is convenient, with ample parking, though it may be slightly risky to walk around after dark. I suggest exploring the beautiful SJSU campus instead, as the lit up tower and fountain are a sight to behold at night. In my opinion, the negative reviews are unwarranted. "Food was delicious. Love the choices for food and drinks and it all tastes amazing. I’ve been there before, in general love the ambience but it was very loud. Could’ve been where we were seated near a larger group of loud people, could’ve been the acoustics that we have not realized before. I was a little disappointed in the delay in service when we initially got there. Several people walked by us helping other tables and we were not even greeted with as much as water. Another waitress kindly realized that when we noticed she was serving a table with bread and water and that table had shown up a good five minutes after we had. Just saying hello and bringing waters and bread even if you can’t do anything else is a nice gesture. But to have our own waitress walk by us to address other tables without even saying hello until she did that it was a little disappointing. Otherwise everything was great and we would certainly come back."

"I would give it zero stars if i could. Absolutely one of the most unprofessional places i have ever experienced. I called in for a delivery and the lady answering the phone sounded very rude and then when i proceeded to give my adress she saying that they don’t deliver there(has to be within 4 miles) and it was within said miles and as i proceeded respectfully, she Rebuttals again that they don’t and then asked the manager if they deliver there, while im still on the phone and i said its within the the requirements. She gave attitude and said well we Don’t deliver there. I ask to speak to a manager and when i talk to him he finally got my adress right and then asked for my order. I quickly changed my mind in the thought that they might play with my food so i didn’t even order it. But gotta say it was not a grateful experience at all."

"Got a delivery order asked for two small things cheese on a sandwich, which I also added to charge if necessary, and some extra butter. They could not follow these instructions or just chose to ignore them for some reason. 80% of the times Ive gotten from there it has been the same unless order is for pickup, seems like deliveries are undervalued or they just figure no one can do anything about it. Only reason I come back at this point is it is close to home and they’re open late. They make me reconsider every time I order."

"I do have one suggestion: it would be great if Mexican restaurants served their chips and salsa warm, as it really elevates the dining experience. We will definitely return to sample more dishes from the menu! I wanted to add a bit more to my review. On September 18, 2021, we came back to celebrate my husband's 66th birthday and brought his sister along, since we had been raving about this place to her. She lives just a short walk away but hadn’t visited until now. The young man working there was incredibly kind—he opened the door for us and helped us find a table that accommodated all of us, as my sister-in-law uses a wheelchair, my husband had a rollator, and I use a cane. The service was quick, and as always, the food was hot and absolutely amazing! My sister-in-law immediately fell in love with Arturo's, and they did not disappoint. She mentioned she would definitely come back and joked that if she could, she'd be there every day, wishing they would deliver to her since she would be ordering daily! Overall, we left as happy new customers. My husband was thrilled to celebrate his birthday in such a fantastic place with delicious food. Thank you!"

"Best bagels on the UWS. I see people here complaining about prices and wait times. Most of the time I don 't get my bagels with anything on them, which may explain why I don 't have these issues?I usually buy just the bagels, get cream cheese separately from the supermarket (or sometimes a 1/4 pound container of their specialty cream cheese, usually garlic herb), and perform the necessary procedures at home myself. This is the old Upper West Side way of doing things, dating back to when the old H H Bagels on 80th Broadway ruled the UWS. (The new one on Columbus 85th 86th belongs to the H H Bagels East company, which is different and not as good).The old H H sold both bagels and cream cheese, but would not assemble them together for you. You were expected to do this yourself at home. I guess I just got used to doing things that way.Anyway. Ever since H H closed, Tal Bagels has consistently had the best bagels in the neighborhood. The everything bagels are absolutely perfect, and they have whole wheat everything too.The staff is rude because they are relentlessly overworked and always exhausted. Please try to be patient with them, and consider maybe dropping a few dollars in the tip jar. The guys who show up at 4 AM or whenever to open are the same guys who close in the evening. On top of that, there 's usually only 2 of them serving customers, and the place gets pretty busy.This is also why the closing time listed here is not quite correct (6 PM every day? LOL). They close early as often as they can, occasionally as early as 2:30 PM on Sunday. Go as early as possible, and don 't count on them being open after 4 PM."
