"I first went here about 20 years ago. Now that I live here, I can go more often! Cheeses from around the country and the world, along with biscuits, crackers, and other treats. I’ve been getting hooked on the Italian cheeses, which my body tolerates better than American cheeses. Plus housewares. Nice, helpful people.In the summers they host food trucks. But I wish they had a French cafe, which I think they did at some point. The pizza I had from a food truck last week sounded like it would be great, but was just ok. There was no salt in the crust. Not this store’s truck, obviously. I’ll still shop there. Just wish they had their own deli or something with goods made from European flours and cheeses."

"I had an unfortunate experience at this restaurant. I dined with a large group and we ordered a variety of dishes. The seafood on the Tower appetizer seemed questionable in terms of freshness. The lobster dinner was served raw and had to be removed from the table. The bone-in NY Strip was disappointing. On a positive note, the bread ribs and shrimp pasta were enjoyable. The sommelier was average and not very willing to provide recommendations or educate us about the wines. However, our waiter, Alfonso, did a great job. I hope you have a much better experience than we did."

"We absolutely adore this restaurant! The freshness of the food is exceptional and sets it apart from most other places. Breakfast features farm-fresh eggs, and the jam is homemade! The Pig's Eye breakfast is one of our favorites, as well as the Bananas Foster French toast—both are simply amazing! Yes, there's a wait, but they inform you about it upon arrival, and it's definitely worth it because the food is so delicious! Keep up the fantastic work, BT!"

"Typically, when the server recites any specials, they should announce the price as well. If it's on the menu, you can see the price. Why should offmenu items be any different? In this case, there was only one special this evening, a Porterhouse for two. The menu is brief yet they were out of the rack of lamb so we decided on sharing the porterhouse. It was good but not worth the dollars we were charged. This restaurant is nice but doesn't warrant these prices. I don't like writing negative reviews. If I have a bad experience, I just don't return. In this case I'm doing a public service"

"I’ve been here a handful of times on weekends during the day and night. Service can be hit or miss. I’ve had similar experiences with the black-haired bartender. I probably wouldn’t have said anything but with seeing some other reviews, I felt like I should share my experience. She was very rude and dismissive. Not sure what the issue is. There was another girl that had a similar attitude working at the bar when I was there also. I’m not really sure why they treat people that way. I could probably speculate but won’t get into that.With this all being said, I’ve actually had some great service here from the other staff on various occasions and I appreciate the ones that care and do a good job. It’s unfortunate because this place has some really good food/drinks and could attract a lot of business and keep customers with the great service. It’s obvious the bad ones turn a lot of people off and hopefully it doesn’t rub off on the good ones that are there doing a great job (because it is really appreciated).This place could easily be busy all day, every day with the staff/service issue figured out. Still a good place, just be ready if you happen to get the wrong staff."

"Stopped in here at the end of a road trip for a bite to eat and a cup of coffee before turning around. The place is pretty big inside, with several tables and some book cases with knick knacks. The sandwich I had was tasty, and the coffee was also quite good. I could see them being busier on other days, but I was there around noon on Black Friday. Recommended for a nice neighborhood bite and coffee."

"When I first experienced the Troc, prior to its renovation, the menu was exactly what one would expect for a French café or brasserie. Then, it became a mish-mosh of Mexican, Thai, French, and American and an all-too-cute and clever menu layout. Now, the kitchy is gone, but there is no identity left. It calls itself a gastropub, but the dishes are not cutting edge enough to qualify as such. It used to fill a big niche in the area when it was a French café. There are no others close by. It now is a lovely building with an inviting inner space but without cohesion on the menu. The staff are great and the quality of food is as well, but I would only recommend it for brunch at this point in time."
