"So I most definitely gotta leave a review hey guys those of you who have followed my reviews always know that I love to let others know about my experience that I have had which might be different from yours but hey this is my review. so I stepped out on faith today as I visited this restaurant located in Midlothian the name of the restaurant is called Gum Wah I'm a pretty loyal Patron meaning that when I like something I'm going to keep going there so my to go to restaurant I forgot it's closed on Sundays so I was looking on Google nearby restaurants and this one kind of stood out to me I checked the menu I read almost like 90 reviews and I looked at their food online so I said hey why not the gentleman that I talked to over the phone just had a really good energy about him you know like I could tell that he really cares about delivering world class customer service so this next comment doesn't have anything to do with them there wasn't really like a lot of spaces to park so I had to park in this Auto shop parking lot I looked around to see if my vehicle was going to be towed I didn't see anything plus I wasn't going to be in the restaurant very long which was next door so the gentleman at the pickup window was the same gentleman that I talked to over the phone I told him I was here for a pickup and while I waited for my food I think I waited less than 5 minutes I was looking at the menu and I just really had a great conversation with the gentleman that took my payment that I wanted to extend my gratitude appreciation so I left a tip and I had to get a smoothie I really like smoothies by the way I got a strawberry mixed with banana and I added tapioca to my smoothie so when my order was ready and I left the tip on the merchant reciept copy The gentleman gave me some Chinese almond cookies which you guys don't know are one of my favorite cookies and I really like the fortune cookies as well they always have a comforting message that I read when you crack them open I ordered a large chicken fried rice for my wife and son and I and I also got four vegetable egg rolls so I drink the whole entire smoothie before I got home and I wanted to wait and save the almond cookies. when I got home I ate all three almond cookies I left one so my wife can try it so she can see what all the fuss is about I have never had vegetable egg rolls so fresh also the chicken fried rice was so perfectly put together I might have found me a new Chinese restaurant also besides Chinese they specialize in Cantonese Mandarin and Szechuan cuisines so let me leave you with this if you guys are in the Midlothian community please visit this establishment they definitely deserve 10 Stars they are open Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday and they're closed on Monday."

"I believe this place is Under New Management because I used to eat here all time I ordered a chicken Saint Paul it had no flavor at all I ordered vegetable fried rice as well it was not good and it was way too expensive for the amount I got I ordered a whole order and it was not a whole water it was just a little bit of rice sprinkled over the styrofoam container and he was kind of rude as well"

"Prices are too high! I understood why it was soo high last year in the beginning of the year but things around the world are back open supply ’demand isn’t as high as before. So drop the prices back to what it used to be or at least offer coupons like before. "BEWARE OF CHINESE DELIVERY GUY!! He takes his own tip without even waiting for you to offer him a tip . This is his second time doing this to me) he picks and chooses who to do it to.Either give him the exact amount or expect to be robbed because that’s how it felt. Not to mention he’s very rude absolutely no professionalism. Imagine someone feeling entitled to your money. And the sad thing is I was fully prepared to give him the whole 20 dollars being that my food was about $14….but when you’re greedy like that he deserved NOTHING !! "Something has changed here either a new manager, chef or they stopped caring. I got takeout and it was pretty terrible. The only thing hot and fresh were the fried shrimp. The crab Rangoon’s and fried wontons were clearly reheated they were lukewarm at best and dark brown on the edges while seemingly slightly undercooked in the middle. The crab rangoons were runny. The wontons had zero flavor and were clearly bordering on stale. I am so disappointed. Been going here over a year and food was always so good. I will say the woman at the counter was very friendly and pleasant but unfortunately they’ve lost a customer!"

"I ordered from the GrubHub app, and it was better than I ever expected! The food was perfectly spicy, just what I was hoping for, and tasted fantastic! I was really impressed with how delicious it was. The portion size was also quite generous—much bigger than I thought it would be. I wish I could give the cook a $20 tip for such an incredible meal! I'll be sure to tip the driver next time too. Thank you, China Cook! You are truly exceptional, and I’ll be choosing you over my usual go-to spots from now on. Thanks again!"

"I had been going to Ken Wok for years and generally it was good. Sometimes I found it a little greasy, and got heartburn, but nothing more. I did find that over the course of the last 7 years the portions have really decreased. The food selections and prices were good and consistent with the area. Unfortunately I will not be going back. Two family members were sickened by the takeout dinners from Ken Wok on 1/11/2015. Dinners consisting of pork fried rice, beef teriyaki and boneless fried chicken were purchased. One family member suffered heartburn only. The other had become violently ill 5-6 hours after eating the food. He was not able to keep food down for more than a day following that. Having studied food safety and noticing the time frame the sickness occurred and the symptoms endured, it is almost certain food poisoning. The person who was sickened had only one thing different than the other person and that was boneless fried chicken. Its too bad they were not safe with their food preparation because now they lost 3 customers and possibly more."

"Takeout review. Was at Aldi 's and hubs and I were hungry so decided to get some Chinese food. Was not expecting much here but LET ME TELL YOU! They have Beef Chow Fun here!!! I 've been craving that for weeks cause can 't get that around my area! Was about to just make it myself too! They speak both Canto and Mando here too! Took us 30 mins before we could eat it so it may not be a great critique of what it would be. My craving of beef chow fun was slightly disappointing as it wasn 't as 'wok hei ' as I would prefer and a bit too 'wet ', but it still took the hankering away. Hubs got his usual sweet and sour pork which was really good, even had pineapples which he says most places don 't offer. If we visit that area again or my parents visit, I would totally come back here for some traditional Chinese family style dinner!"

"This saddens me because my dad use to love to eat here since I was younger, and I hadn’t been here in years but never had a bad experience in 20 yrs prior decided we were ordering take out. Let me tell you I regret ever talking my family into ordering here. I finally decided to drive out the way to get dinner for my family and it was absolutely horrible. I don’t care what the reasons for the quality of the food were. Hell it could have been because it was close to 9pm but I would have rather them not take the order then serve us oily over cooked and sauced mess. All the food was over cooked and chewy. The breading on all the meat was soggy from the extreme excessive sauce put on everything. Only thing edible was the sweet and sour chicken because it was unsauced. Even fried rice tasted old. The crispy beef was so soggy the white stuff they put under it for decoration was soggy and drenched in sauce. I was extremely disappointed that this was my family’s first time eating Flower Drum and damn sure will be the last. Like how do you not even have filling in the crab ragoons!! They were free and we couldn’t even enjoy that. Waste of 70$. Would have been better off eating at the other three Chinese food places we past to get to there. No restaurant should ever serve this type of nonsense and get away with it. It was takeout so that’s all I really can review is the horrible food. Update: it is 6am and everyone in my house has been throwing up since 2-6 am after they ate the little bit that they tried to from flower drum This was a horrendous experience."
