"The owner really needs to manage the business better. In today’s world, there are plenty of tools available to announce closures. While we were there, four other cars showed up, all sharing our frustration. I genuinely enjoy the food here, but the service leaves much to be desired. Inconsistency can quickly damage a small business.
Here’s my advice: if you plan to eat here, call ahead. If no one answers and you can't confirm that Corner Pit is open, it's best to reconsider your visit.
Response: Jake, thank you for your reply. The real issue is that your business assured us that the brisket would be ready for us on Sunday after we placed our order 14 days prior to 7/15. We provided our contact information and should have been notified before driving over 70 miles, especially since we confirmed on 7/15 at 3 PM that you would be open and had the brisket ready for us. I understand your business model, and I appreciate the quality of your food. As someone who has worked in operations for the past 15 years, I believe it's essential to do what you say you will do and keep your commitments. That’s the best way to run a business. I’ll chalk this up as a lesson learned and hope it serves as one for you as well.
