"I could have sworn I wrote a review after my visit two months ago, but I can't find it anywhere—strange! Anyway, this was my second breakfast visit in a few months, and both times have been equally enjoyable. I arrived on a freezing Sunday morning in late March—ugh, I wish I were back in Florida! The place was almost empty at 8:30 AM, so we kept it simple. I ordered a hot and fresh Western omelet with hashbrowns and rye toast, which was delicious. The eggs were perfectly soft, and I had Taylor ham on the side, along with fries, white toast, and gravy for the fries. It may sound basic, but so many places overlook those little requests. Here, everything was fresh and tasty. My coffee was refilled without me even asking, and the atmosphere was modern and clean. I really don’t understand the negative reviews—this diner is at the top of my list in New Jersey!"

"On July 9th, I visited with my in-laws for the first time The food was okay, and the prices were reasonable. I also had my 2-year-old daughter with me, which, as we all know, can be challenging. My daughter is receiving therapy for certain services, and although having a child with special needs is not an excuse for bad behavior, I tried my best to manage the situation when she started throwing food around. The lady serving us noticed and mentioned she would teach my daughter a lesson. She proceeded to blow paper straw pieces from a straw at my daughter, almost hitting her in the eye. I found the situation awkward and have decided not to visit again. She may have intended to be kind, but I perceived it as sarcastic. The situation is quite disappointing, especially considering the individual's age. It is immature and inappropriate to approach a parent without being aware of the child's mental circumstances or knowing the parent personally. I chose not to address it then, as my in-laws were present, and I didn't want to cause a scene or add to the awkwardness. I found myself wondering if the individual handling the food was mentally stable, and I interpreted her behavior as possibly disliking my daughter. It was quite unsettling and alarming when she mentioned teaching my daughter a lesson to my father-in-law."

"My husband and I pass this diner several times a week and keep saying we should check it out; so this past Thursday evening we decided we had a craving for the diner experience and pulled into the parking lot at City Diner. We were greeted and shown a table promptly. I know this diner is known more for its breakfast, but the menu is quite diverse and we were there for dinner, we decided we had a hankering for Greek cuisine. We ordered the stuffed grape leaves and hummus appetizers. I really like stuffed grape leaves, and though the best stuffed grape leaves I've had in the DC area are at Taverna Cretekou, City Diner's version hit the spot as well. The hummus and pita bread are both delicious as well. For our main course we ordered the athenian combo, which we realized after, was enough food to feed two people....the portions are definitely filling at City Diner. The platter has tasty gyro meat on a pita, spanakopita, salad, and french fries. You also get another side of salad or soup! Did I mention you will not leave hungry?! : This a definitely a place local diner fans enjoy and I can see why...from the decor to the super friendly staff, we felt at home the whole time. We plan to comeback to try breakfast or shakes and pie sometime soon. Thanks for a great traditional diner experience."

"We were pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to wait for a table, especially since we were short on time. It was my first visit to this restaurant, but my companions had eaten here several times and highly recommended it. Once we were seated, I noticed how clean and inviting the dining area was, along with an amazing display of desserts—definitely a treat! The menu offered a wide variety of options, and I appreciated that breakfast is served all day. Our orders were taken promptly, and our food arrived hot and quickly, which was fantastic. Overall, the food was very good. The soup was a bit saltier than I usually prefer, but it was still enjoyable. I will definitely come back again!"

"Exceptional Dining Experience at Island Lake Diner! From the moment we stepped into the Island Lake Diner, we knew we were in for a treat. The warm, welcoming atmosphere set the perfect tone for a delightful meal. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and attended to our every need with efficiency and care. The menu is a wonderful blend of classic and innovative choices, catering to a wide range of tastes. What truly stood out was the diner’s commitment to quality. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the attention to detail in both cooking and presentation was evident. The portions were generous, satisfying our appetites completely. To top it all off, the pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. It’s a place where you get more than what you pay for. In conclusion, Island Lake Diner is a hidden gem. We left with a happy heart and a promise to return soon. For anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience with a personal touch, this is the place to go. Five stars well-deserved!"

"Whenever I enjoy a delicious pastrami sandwich, I always think it's the best in town. Other dishes at Jerry's Famous Delis are also great!"

"Went to the Cinnaminson Diner tonight to specifically get their barbecue combo because it was very good about a year ago. I was so disappointed as the ribs were not cooked fresh. It appeared that they were cooked once before and just reheated. They did not cook the ribs with barbecue sauce on them, they slapped the sauce on afterwards. My friend got the Kansas City chop steak and wanted it rare. She got the Kansas City chop steak well done. I don’t think we will be going back."

"I recently had breakfast at PJ Bernstein, a New York deli located near the hospital where I was visiting my new grandbaby. While I had high hopes for the meal, I was somewhat disappointed by the overall experience. To start, the tables were sticky, which was not a great first impression. It made me wonder about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Additionally, my egg cream was too watery, which detracted from the overall flavor. While it was still drinkable, it was not up to the standard that I was hoping for.As for the food, I ordered my standard latkes, matzoh ball soup, and a Reuben sandwich. While the matzoh ball soup was flavorful and satisfying, the latkes had too much flour, which made them dry and a bit tough. This was a disappointment, as latkes are one of my favorite dishes and I was looking forward to them. The Reuben sandwich was good, but not outstanding. It was a bit dry and lacked the tangy flavor that I was hoping for. While the food was not exceptional, the service was decent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food was served in a timely manner. However, the lack of cleanliness and the disappointing latkes and egg cream detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, while PJ Bernstein may have been a New York deli staple in the past, my recent experience left something to be desired. While the matzoh ball soup and Reuben sandwich were good, the latkes had too much flour and the egg cream was too watery. Additionally, the tables were sticky, which was a bit off-putting. While the service was decent, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a more satisfying New York deli experience"

"Got a delivery order asked for two small things cheese on a sandwich, which I also added to charge if necessary, and some extra butter. They could not follow these instructions or just chose to ignore them for some reason. 80% of the times Ive gotten from there it has been the same unless order is for pickup, seems like deliveries are undervalued or they just figure no one can do anything about it. Only reason I come back at this point is it is close to home and they’re open late. They make me reconsider every time I order."

"Ate here this morning with my boyfriend and two local friends. Had been a bunch of times and always had excellent experiences all around: delicious food that corresponds with fair prices and friendly staff. I typically got one of the specials or French toast. Can't tell you why I had never tried the pancakes but I'm glad I did today. I had the cinnamon swirl pancakes topped with blueberries and strawberries and the pancakes were amazing! The portion was just right and the pancakes didn't leave me feeling overwhelmingly full; instead I was simply satisfied. My boyfriend had the cajun chicken omelette which I would also recommend if you're looking for something more savory."

"I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the biscuits and gravy. Let’s start with the chicken and waffles. The chicken was juicy, but the breading lacked any flavor or seasoning. Additionally, the chicken was placed on top of the waffle in the same container, which resulted in the waffle becoming a greasy, soggy mess. I don’t mind a bit of grease, but a soggy waffle is just not enjoyable. On a positive note, the waffle itself had great flavor; I just wish it had been served separately. Now, onto the highlight of my meal: the biscuits and gravy. As a country boy from West Virginia, I’ve been on the hunt for good sausage gravy since moving to Tampa over four years ago. I can confidently say that Joe's sausage gravy is the best I’ve found. If anyone knows of any other places that serve excellent, hearty sausage gravy, please let me know. Until then, Joe's has definitely won my loyalty for that dish."

"Carlos was absolutely rude and should not be a manager. He served me on a dirt napkin the first drink. I ordered a Mango Margarita. I noticed that Carlos did not even pour 2 oz of tequila in the drink. He free poured for 2 secs. I tasted it and it was watered down. I then asked him what he would reccommend and he was very short and nasty with me. Saying I dont know I like them all just pick already. I asked for him to make another one this one top shelf since it tasted watered down. Carlos then pours Luna Azul Tequila which is not Top Shelf! Carlos then shakes up the drink again without putting fresh ice in a cup. Once again its watered down. Carlos was being very rude and discriminatory towards me and I frequent this location a lot for lunch. I have never felt so disrespected and insulted in my life. Carlos needs to be demoted and another person in place that actually cares about making drinks."
