"Brought someone there yesterday 8/6/24 from out of town and we had a 10+ experience. Roast beef was good. Husband gad ribs. Friend had roast beef. I had shrimp stir fry. All meals were fabulous. Waitress was really friendly, nice, chipper and offered beverages. Asked us if we needed anything and stopped by several times. Pepper soup was delicious. Servie excellent. Food fantastic. Thank you for going above and beyond."

"I came here after all my fellow yelpers posted about the event that ended two days ago. Tucked away in a corner of a shopping plaza on Semoran and south wekiva road this hidden gem is a great dining option for a wide spread menu. We started with the carb lovers unite. The biscuits were warm(ish), similar to Cracker Barrel style, but the cinnamon maple butter was cold hard- breaking apart with every attempt to spread it on 5/10. The corn bread was a 2/10, it was dry and crumbled so much that you couldn't pick it up to bite it, literally you had to eat it with a spoon to prevent it from spilling everywhere. The pineapple spread tasted great. My sister had the chicken fried plate with onion straws and collard greens.... The chicken was good 8/10 as were the onion straws 7/10. The collard greens were a pass for all four of us at the table 0/10. They were microwave warm, tasted canned and lacked seasoning. I had the true love with meatloaf crumbles. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 15/10!!! My daughter had the Boozie Bread with turkey bacon and cheese eggs. The French toast was described as crispy and the eggs were meah. Scored a 6/10. The chicken pot pie wasn't the typical pot pie. It didn't have crust at all, just a biscuit on top of very tasty goulash, 7/10 Based off of our dining experience we skipped the desserts. The sweet tea was a good balance and not too sweet. I was satisfied with our trip as was my party. We would eat here again if we were in the area."

"The server was polite, but seemed overwhelmed. We were seated in a separate room and felt neglected. Only two guests received drink refills, and one drink from the bar took 10-15 minutes to arrive. The appetizer was served quickly, but the main course took some time. The food was average, but the corn was overly seasoned with pepper. We may return in the future, but likely not with a large group as it seemed that the staff did not prioritize the guests in the separate rooms. Out of sight, out of mind."

"our waitress could not be harassed with us. the place was not overcrowded, but she would come to the table to speak with a person to get an order, then would run as if she was in great haste without asking if someone else needed anything. then she would put something on the table and immediately disappear without checking if we needed anything else. I actually had to go to the bar to get a drink at one point because she wouldn't come back to the table. the ducks had hardly any flesh on them. the hummus was pretty good. my burger was good (the mushroom one,) but the elchburger my mannes. bunker fell apart, etc. our friends said that they were eating in order, but they were not overwhelmed either. all in all it was not a great experience."

"I don't know where to begin. We came in because the reviews were so good, we keep coming back because everything was so much better than we thought. Let me start with the food...I swear they put their heart, love, and soul into every dish. I have tried a few things and each one is magical. Then there is the people. Y'all, it's a family affair!! These guys are some of the nicest, most caring and inviting people I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. I can feel the bond and the love between them immediately, and they treat you as one of their own. God knows I needed to find this place, and I believe he sent me there right when I should be there. "This was my first time there, food was good, the service was great. I had a half order of French toast, three eggs scrambled with a sausage gravy to add on top, a side of bacon, side of hashbrowns, a cup of coffee and a large orange juice. The orange juice left a little bit to be desired it was more like orange colored water with a little bit of pulp not a lot of flavor. I was not prepared for the pricing but I went in hungry so I paid the price. Had I been a little bit less hungry I could have saved myself some money but, trying it out for the first time I went for it. With various sides costing an average of $4 they can rack up pretty quickly. The overall look is not bad but they have a lot of dirty ceiling tiles from I'm sure when the place was able to be smoked in. They could really use an update to clean up the look but other than that it was a good meal with great service."

"Ive been to Mallies but years ago. I didn't care for it then but figured I would give it another chance. My son and I went Tuesday and it was awful. Started with the service being super slow. It was only us and a couple other tables so it wasnt busy at all. 1st tried ordering multiple appetizers but she said no one made night before so they don't have. Ok that's fine ordered gouda Mac n cheese appetizer and it was basically water. Then my son ordered fettuccine alfredo and she came back saying no noodles. So he changed the noodles to something else. I got a Philly steak and it was disgusting. There was hardly any meat in it and the meat that was there was burnt and charred. For a 53.00 lunch I expected more. Also the oil the onion rings were cooked in needs to be changed because those were disgusting as well."

"Visited here today and had an awesome brunch! My husband got the pancake combo.. It came with 2 huge pancakes, 2 eggs, 3 sausage links, 4 bacon, coffee and juice for 13.99. I ordered the cinnamon French toast for 8.29. The cinnamon French toast was like a delicious dessert. My husband's meal was big and tasty. Service was excellent! The manager stopped by several times and chatted with us. The restaurant itself is too small for the amount of business they get, but it's a long standing building, so it's what they got. The temperature was a little warm, but the restaurant was full. Everyone had very positive attitudes and were very helpful. $27 is a bit more than I would normally want to spend for brunch for two, but it was totally worth it."

"I love this restaurant, the staff are really friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend trying their pancakes or French toast special. The only thing I would advise against is the avocado toast, there was something off about it (maybe the diced tomatoes were not a good match) and I did not enjoy it."

"our dinner in mendoberri was wonderful. beautiful wine selection--if my man couldn't decide our server offered to bring taste -- that doesn't happen often and it was a really nice note. he had risotto with huh that was delicious. great aromen, huh was damp. I had healed it with spring green and estragonies. excellent! the personal was so pleasant. they had a guitarist-loving and a very nice addition. not too loud. eating is fresh, organic (I think,) I have dined here a few times both lunch, dinner and appetizers and was always satisfied."

"Unsure if it was because it was Mardi Gras or if service is always lacking but I would not recommend this place is you're pressed for time. Our reservation was at 7:30, we arrived at 7:25 were seated by then. The waitress who doubled as bartender took our order within 10 minutes but the orders did not arrive until 7:59. I put in a to go order at 8:10 and received the bill at 8:38 but did not get our food until 8:50. From 7:30 to 8:50 and all we ordered was a burger, a shrimp platter, and fried alligator! The dining area was not crowded but maybe there wasn't enough staff, I don't know. What I do know is the food was good, just not worth the wait. AND we were barely checked on."

"Usually I have had good results from this place. However, my last order was an interesting venture nothing short of a glitch in the matrix. I ordered a Caesar wrap (spinach tortilla). What I received was basically a caesar salad on top of a plain tortilla, unwrapped. I would be more upset if it wasn't so dang hilarious. I mean, I guess all the elements are there at the very least. Can't blame Door Dash on this one, they didn't prep it! What are your employees smoking and can I get some of that?"

"The French toast at this restaurant is truly exceptional, as other reviewers have mentioned. I particularly enjoy the cinnamon French toast, especially because I am a vegetarian and prefer not to be pressured into ordering bacon or sausage. The fact that they don't package everything together in the same takeout box (which often results in the entire meal tasting like grease and meat) is a huge plus. The cinnamon French toast is incredibly fluffy and perfectly cooked—possibly the best I've ever had. The three thick slices are more than enough for one meal, and I like to pair them with a side of scrambled eggs and share with my dog. I also tried the chocolate milkshake, which was fantastic! The mocha was just okay, but still enjoyable. The pancakes were also very good, though not quite as decadent as the French toast. I appreciate that they provide real maple syrup instead of the cheap corn syrup typically found at other restaurants. Overall, I give this place a perfect 10/10 and will definitely order from here again."

"While visiting New Orleans, we wanted to revisit a past dining experience and stopped into Cafe Maspero. Upon check-in, the host was less than happy to accommodate a table for 4. No greeting, no smile, no sense of wanting to be there in the least! Once inside, our waiter, Antwann, quickly changed the mood. He was friendly, informative and made us feel right at home. We dined on fried alligator, Chicken Andouille Gumbo, Maspero?s Chicken Sandwich, and Crawfish Étouffée. Thefood was hot, fresh and tasted like New Orleans! As a bonus, we ordered the jalapeño hush puppies! Would highly recommend this establishment (forget about the host)!"

"I've enjoyed years of fantastic food at this restaurant. I fondly remember visiting here with my parents before MSU games when I was a child—I've loved it since I was four! The food is incredible; their onion rings are absolutely the best and have remained unchanged over the years. However, I'm a bit disappointed that they've switched to Hammy Sammy's and Smokey Joe's rolls. The previous rolls were far superior, though I can't really complain too much about the current ones—they're just different and not as good. Still, everything else here is wonderful. The fish, melts, olive burgers, and French fries are all outstanding. I’m really hoping for a change back to what they used to offer. Despite this, it’s an amazing place to eat at such a great price. But please, bring back those old rolls!"
