"I've had two issues in just one week at this restaurant. The first incident was with the shrimp in the spicy red curry soup, which was overcooked. When I spoke with the kitchen manager, he acknowledged the problem, explaining that the order was spicy and the shrimp had been cooked twice. My second complaint was regarding the fried rice, which contained a piece of metal from a scrub pad. However, the kitchen manager refused to take my call, stating that he only handles complaints for same-day orders. I find that completely unreasonable. Given these experiences, I won’t be returning to or ordering from this restaurant again. I’m just thankful we noticed the metal before we started eating; I can’t imagine what could have happened otherwise."

"Where to begin, the food was delicious it was hot and made fresh right when i ordered. the chicken katsu was crispy seasoned cooked perfectly and could tell that it had been fried in fresh oil. the rice was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. and came with a sweet and tangy sauce that complimented both the chicken and rice very nicely. The lady at the front was so sweet and kind, the service was amazing. she came up to me multiple times just to check in and see if the food was good, brought me water, and extra sauce too and i had not even asked for it. The restaurant was clean and nice and had a friendly vibe to it with music that made me feel nostalgic to 2016. Overall it was a great experience and I 100% recommend and will be coming again. they gave me so much food the small container was packed with rice to the brim and the second larger bowl had a mountain of chicken katsu inside. I eat a lot i'm a wrestler and have a huge appetite and look at how much food I had to take home!!!! It could have at least fed me and my brother who both wrestle and eat like dragons. You guys have my gratitude for amazing service and food."

"Very delicious food. The amount of food you get for the price is enormous! You order an egg drop soup expecting a small bowl and it's a giant decorated bowl as big as a family salad bowl! And the family combination is on a tray as big as half the table! Was stuffed and had lots to take home, absolutely recommended"

"If I could leave a zero star wouldn't be low enough of a rating on this disappointing and the treatment was completely unacceptable! The food ordered was not that great, came out cold and soggy. But the pho soup with brisket was so horrible full of tendons and fat!! My sister brought the soup back and they literally refused to rectify the situation. They didn't offer a replacement nor a different dish. So she asked for a refund on the soup only and not the rest of the horrible meal, over $50 spent in disgusting food. Their answer to her was it is what she ordered and it's not their fault. My sister explained she cannot eat meat like that because of stomach issues and they still refused!! My niece and I stopped eating because the cold soggy food they served us made her throw up and me with a upset stomach! NEVER EVER GO THERE because if you are not satisfied their moto is it is your fault not theirs and DO NOT EXPECT A REFUND."

"Overall, I had a mixing feeling for this restaurant. First, for service, the servers are very nice but give me a feeling of newbie. They are very cautious and look like so afraid they do something wrong, so it seems like they are scared to serve. For food, the price is generally lower than others, maybe because the portion is slightly off, so that's why. I would strong suggest NOT to order the soft shell crab there as it is really bad in my opinion. I have tried the same dish in many different restaurants, and pretty sure this is the worst ever"

"We ordered delivery late at night around 9:30 PM. I usually avoid ordering at this hour because many Chinese restaurants tend to rush their service as they approach closing time, which often affects the quality of the food. However, HUNAN CHINESE exceeded my expectations! The food arrived hot and fresh. The sesame chicken was both crispy and flavorful, and the seafood delight was also impressively fresh!"

"I'm a big fan of the Happy Teriyaki chain and Teriyaki in general. This is my first less than positive review and I hope this was just my bad experience, but here goes. I ordered the chicken and beef Teriyaki combo for $17.99 and that is where things started to go wrong. The chicken teriyaki was $11.99 and the beef teriyaki was $15.99 so a chicken beef combo should have been like $15.99 or less in my mind. But it was $2 so i moved on. Like I said, I enjoy me some teriyaki. I also wanted to get a bento box originally and for some reason that was not clear to me the bento box was $23.99, but everywhere else in town a bento box has more in it and ranges between $15-21. So not doing well on price, but I was hopeful for the food itself. Now I like to order my sauce on the side because the sauce can mask the great taste of the food beneath. So when the food arrived in about 7 minutes I was excited to try it. When I picked up my food the box was noticeable lighter than most local teriyaki places. I stopped and had to double check that there was food in the bag. There was food in the bag with the normal size container. Now the container was a super nice microwavable container which is unique for teriyaki. I got to my car and opened the box. At this point I'm looking for answers as to what will this over priced light weight weight teriyaki do. First the weight. The container was indeed half empty with two scoopes of rice instead of a bed of rice with the teriyaki mounded on top with the lid pressed against the food. Now the presentation was good. There was a nice char on both the chicken and the beef. However, things quickly took a turn for the worst when i tried the food. First I tried the chicken. The chicken was tender with a noticeable char, but the general flavor was off. The chicken had a distinct won ton flavor to it. Great with a won ton,but not doing it for me with the chicken. Next i tried the beef hopeful that the beef would wow! Unfortunately besides the nice char the beef was bland with an odd won ton flavor and tough as shoe leather. This was particularly sad becuase when prepared properly with velveting and marinade the beef Teriyaki rarely needs sauce. At this point I needed some of the steamed Vegtables which yes somehow tasted like won tons again. What is happening in my mouth. The rice was the saving grace of the meal. Unfortunately this was not the standard Happy Teriyaki experience i have come to enjoy from the several other local Teriyaki joint. This particular teriyaki joint is now firmly at the bottom of the list of local teriyaki places with only one direction to go and hopefully that is up."

"After entering the restaurant and inquiring about the price of the teriyaki from the cashier, I was met with a rude response. Instead of providing me with the information, she insisted I wait until she finished rolling up sushi. Feeling disrespected, I decided to leave without causing a scene. The unnecessary rudeness of the cashier has deterred me from ever returning to Happy Teriyaki on Bridgeport Way. I would prefer to go hungry than to support such behavior."

"I want to put five stars for the food because they have wonderful dishes with amazing flavor. That being said what is going on with the wait staff? This is the third time in a row I have had a clueless teenager as a waiter. I almost wrote this review a month ago, but I figured I would skip it because the food was good. I truly do not mean to come off as rude, but the past three times including tonight has been awful service. Parts of the order were missing, no drink order was brought, no courteous demeanor, no checking on the table to see how we are doing. Mind you this evening when dining there was only one other table that had people dining. I just do not understand how come these kids are not trained. Going out to eat is a privilege and I was hoping for a nice date night after a long week and I just left feeling irritated. Please hire some competent staff or at least train the kids to know what food is on the menu. I have really tried to keep loving this place because the food is great but after three bad dining experiences I think I will stick to take out."

"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The teriyaki was some of the worst I've ever tasted. The sweet and sour chicken lacked any flavor; it seemed like the chicken was old and dry, with an excessive amount of sauce attempting to mask its lack of freshness. The chicken teriyaki was burnt, as if they tried to reheat it to make it appear freshly cooked, again attempting to hide the fact that it was dry and old. While the menu listed the price as $14.99, I was charged $17.00 when I paid. They also barely provided any sauce for the teriyaki chicken and then charged an extra $0.35 for additional sauce. To top it all off, the tables and walls were covered in greasy fingerprints. I would not recommend spending your money here; it was a really terrible experience."
