"We asked them to turn down the three loudly blaring TVs, requested menus, asked for water, and finally placed our order. We started with drinks, but the server forgot two coffees that were ordered by members of our party. I ordered a cranberry mimosa, which was quite unpleasant—sweet, flat champagne made it taste like overly sugary juice.
After an hour and a half of being ignored, except when one of our group went to the bar, I had enough. We canceled our food orders and left. We went home and made our own brunch instead. I understand that things can go wrong and that leisurely Sunday brunches can be enjoyable, but I don’t want to spend my day off being ignored by staff in a dirty bar and not getting to eat.
To their credit, the hostess/bar staff did apologize as we were leaving and mentioned that our server had actually left in the middle of our visit. I don't know what happened, but it seems Zzu is not equipped to handle brunch service. Stick to wings and tacos at night, because you're not living up to the standard you set for yourselves."
