"I dined here on two consecutive nights in late May 2022, and I was impressed by the food preparation, which is a fantastic addition to the culinary landscape of Manteo. Both nights, I ordered the fish of the day, and it was well-cooked, flavorful, and elegantly presented. There are only a few waterfront dining spots on Roanoke Island, and 1587 definitely boasts one of the best views. The dining room is cozy, with a water view from every seat—you're so close that it feels like you could almost reach out and touch the water. Currently, they only accommodate parties of six or fewer, which makes for a more intimate setting. Be patient as they navigate the ongoing pandemic; they prepare excellent food, and good things take time. Like many restaurants, they are dealing with supply shortages, so a little patience goes a long way. Overall, this dining experience is absolutely worth it right now."
