"The service was outstanding; we were warmly welcomed and offered coat check. Our waiter was very friendly, and since it was a slower night, our food arrived quickly—within ten minutes of placing our order. Now, let’s talk about the food. It was all fantastic! We started with three appetizers: the French onion soup, which is one of their signature dishes (or so I hear), foie gras, and frog legs (which I was initially hesitant about). We thoroughly enjoyed all of them, and we weren’t too full to savor our main courses: duck and lamb shanks. My fiancé declared his duck the best he had ever tasted, and I completely agreed about my lamb, which was both tender and full of flavor. For drinks, he chose a Duvel, a strong Belgian beer, while I had a sparkling rosé (nothing extraordinary, but reasonably priced) and Kiki's martini, which was flavored with white grape juice, giving it a sweet, almost iridescent quality that made it easy to drink. I typically don’t indulge in martinis, so I appreciated this unique flavor, although a more seasoned martini drinker might feel differently. To finish off our meal, we shared the crème brûlée, which was delicious—rich and crunchy, complete with a candle for the birthday celebration. There was some chocolate at the bottom that I didn’t care for (as I’m not a fan of chocolate), but my fiancé enjoyed it immensely. I don’t usually write reviews, but I hope I’ve encouraged others to check out Kiki's if they haven’t already. I believe they will have just as amazing, relaxed, classy, and delicious an experience as we did."

"The atmosphere is excellent as are the servers, however the food is average. I am interested in restaurants that provide excellent or great food, not just good or average. Four Of is recently dined here, and in spite of the many highly positive reviews, here 's what I found: I ordered the baked scallops with a 6oz sirloin. As a lifelong local resident and a veteran working for a number of high quality restaurants, baked scallops usually means your scallops are cooked with some type of stuffing or cracker crumbs. If you offer no stuffing, then you 're really not serving baked scallops, you 're serving broiled scallops. I was disappointed when they arrived to see that there were scallops lightly dusted with bread crumbs and that was it. They weren 't particularly flavorful and they didn 't appear to me to be traditional baked scallops. I also ordered the chicken breast over liquini with a mushroom cream sauce and asparagus to take home. I specifically asked to get extra sauce, but when I got home, I discovered that they did not give me extra sauce as I ordered and every single piece of asparagus was overcooked! The sauce was also too thin and it lacked the succulent, rich flavor you would expect in a mushroom cream sauce. Like the scallops, it was flavorless. Getting so much overcooked asparagus also rather killed the dish! The salad bar, while clean and well done, lacked several things that could have made it excellent. The lettuce was a little limp and cut too large... there were no high quality olives. The beats were low quality and warm. Another review cited some high quality creamy cheese to go with the bread but I didn 't see any soft cheese and the one cheese they offered wasn 't anything special so the salad bar, an excellent idea, just wasn 't executed well enough. All my guests ordered fried ice cream for dessert and all reported their food as good but not great. The bread was also cold and, again, very average. Overall, it was exceedingly average and, for me, that doesn 't merit my going back again. I wish I could offer a more positive review but this was my experience."

"While the hardcover has some nice dishes, it lacks the basic consistency that would make it a solid 4 star restaurant. Firstly, service was good- our waiter was nice and prompt, and the staff seemed friendly. The location itself inside the restaurant is a bit cramped but cozy. Its definitely loud inside at busy times. The salad bar and bread in my opinion are underwhelming for a restaurant of this price range. While the self serve style is in theory a nice idea, it reminded me a lot of the corner of my college dining hall (nothing against salad bars, I just think they could do something more with it). I wish the bread was warmer or toasted or something. The beef Wellington was very good. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, flavorful and perfectly sized. For people specifically looking for a wellington I would recommend this place. The teriyaki steak is also good. Sadly, while the baked chicken was good, the linguini served it had too much pasta and too little sauce. This made it a chore to eat (though the asparagus and mushroom paired well). The salmon was sort of bland-i’d like to say good meat will stand on its own but it appeared to be “seasoned with air”. Not tragic but not inspiring. The baked haddock was nice. I understand the value of simplicity but the boiled vegetables and baked potatoes weren’t really doing it for me at this price of restaurant. I understand this isnt quite fine dining, but I would expect some more consistency and refinement for this type of restaurant. I was happy about the beef wellington though!"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Coquille and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that left me wanting more. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable evening. For my meal, I chose the roast organic half chicken with vegetables, paired with a delicious chocolate mousse and a refreshing mocktail. The dishes were all masterpieces in their own right, showcasing the talent and creativity of the chefs at La Coquille. The half chicken was tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection with crispy skin that added a wonderful texture. The vegetables were expertly seasoned and cooked to retain their freshness, creating a harmonious combination of flavors on the plate. The chocolate mousse was a dream for dessert lovers, velvety smooth with a rich chocolate flavor that was divine. The mocktail I chose was a refreshing blend of flavors that perfectly complemented my meal, expertly crafted by mixologist Amanda. In addition to the exceptional food, the service at La Coquille was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about providing a top-notch dining experience. They made me feel like a valued guest throughout the evening. Overall, my dining experience at La Coquille was stellar. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience that will leave you wanting more. "The venue boasts an Instagram-worthy deck and ambiance, but regrettably falls short in most other aspects. The cocktails, while decent, couldn't compensate for our underwhelming experience. Although the bartenders were friendly, our initial seating left much to be desired. I didn't anticipate a minimum spending requirement at such restaurant; my expectations were closer to the service standards at Gracias Madre and Manuela. Our server seemed disinterested, lacking the warm hospitality I had hoped for. She took our appetizer order but immediately asked if we were only ordering that, with an unwelcoming attitude. Despite this, we proceeded with the evening. The food was passable, with the shrimp having an off-putting fishy taste, but the Hamachi was enjoyable. The waitress neglected our table while attending to others nearby. Upon requesting the bill, she loudly informed us of a $45 minimum spend per person, which caught me off guard. Ironically, we had already ordered cocktails at the bar that would have met this minimum, though I wasn't prepared to explain. This entire experience left me dissapointed, my expectations may have been too high for a restaurant where the cheapest protein entree was $42 or more. I offered feedback to the manager, who was polite and mentioned that the minimum was on the menu, but it wasn't the norm I was use to in similar places. Sadly, I'd rather pay premium prices for superior food and service elsewhere."
