"I went to Higher Ground today because it was near where I was already running an errand. I ordered two plain bagels with cream cheese, one chai latte, and one caramel macchiato. I was the only customer and I waited thirty minutes, from 12:15 to 12:45pm, for the items to be prepared. In the meantime, I attempted to use the bathroom, which an employee unlocked for me. The toilet was clogged with fecal water overflowing. I did not use the bathroom and informed the one person working that it was 'out of order. ' My large iced chai latte was prepared using one small bag of Tazo brand chai. Needless to say, it was borderline flavorless when poured over ice with soy milk. It pains me to give this poor review. I am enthusiastic about supporting small and local businesses. The shop was overall (aside from the bathroom) very clean, sparsely decorated with new-looking furniture (tables, chairs, countertop, couch). The a/c was either not in use or not working, as the air inside was hot and stuffy. I would not voluntarily eat inside or stay to do work there. The bagels and macchiato were fine."
