"We started out with the charcuterie appetizer and it would have been spectacular except for the fact that the grapes were way past ripe. The meats, cheezes and such were lovely and a nice option. The main courses were adequate, but nothing exciting; pork chop and salmon. I'm thinking the steak is probably a better choice here. The atmosphere was the best part of the meal cozy, quiet and clubby."

"We ate at Jack's for Mother's Day. The restaurant had a full crowd most of the time we were there. As tables left, another would come in. Our waiter was always available and very friendly, suggesting recommendations. My parents had the lobster tail which they both liked, although my mom thought it could use a bit more pepper. For the appetizers, we had fried shrimp and calamari and my mom said you could tell the calamari was definitely fresh!!! I had the pan seared scallops which were perfectly cooked and delicious! My daughter had a CT Lobster roll which she very much enjoyed. The food was great. Pies for dessert were also very tasty. My daughter loved the key lime pie and she's hard to please. Would definitely recommend and would visit again."

"The food here is great but the amount of flies this restaurant has inside is disturbing. We had 5 flies buzzing around our table the entire time we were there and this is not the first time it has happened either. The waitress we had completely messed up our order and then made it seem like it was our fault she didn't write it down. We got two slices of their famous pie to go because we couldn't stand the flies any longer and when we got home we discovered the waitress put them In the bag upside down. If that wasn't bad enough the tops were not locked so when you picked it up it fell out into the bag an onto the floor. I loved this place months ago but after this experience I think I will go else where. While I love supporting a small business id rather not share a table with flies. Everything else I can forgive but being chased out by the swarm was just to much for me to handle. With them landing on everything nothing is sanitary."

"This was a busy little family diner that’s been around as long as I can remember. I decided to have a simple lunch here, and settled on the chicken tender dinner after a while. The menu has a lot of options, so choosing was tricky. The food was tasty and seemed about what I’d expect from such a restaurant. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s very familiar and very reasonably priced. I was happy with my whole meal, and I’d like to give some of their other menu items a try someday. I imagine it’d be a very agreeable place for children too."

"A very good place for breakfast. My bacon was crisper than I like, but I should've said something when I placed my order. Coffee is good and a bottomless cup. It has a very homey atmosphere. Service was good, and the food was good, I ordered 3 pancakes and I should have ordered 2. I think for two of us it was around $25. I recommend trying them out. Parking: With two cafes almost next to each other, it can make it harder to get a parking space. Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheelchair parking, but it's a little ways off. There's a ramp to get in. I am sure that they would move things if necessary to accommodate you."

"Since I was a little girl, I've been going to Deerman's BBQ. My family and I used to enjoy eating here after church on Sundays. However, since they moved to their current location, the food has not been the same. I was very disappointed with my experience today. I went through the drive-thru a little after 11:00 and ordered the special: Hamburger Steak with gravy and onions, along with two sides and bread. The person taking my order seemed confused; I had to repeat myself multiple times, and when I got to the window, I had to repeat my order again! I also asked about a piece of Coca-Cola cake, but the lady had no idea what I was talking about, even though it’s listed on the menu! It’s really important for the staff to be knowledgeable about the menu selections. Clearly, she needs better training. I requested some Tabasco sauce, but it was never included with my order. To make matters worse, my food was at room temperature—definitely not fresh—and my sweet tea was very watered down. I ended up spending $18 on a poorly prepared meal."

"This restaurant has been a cherished spot since it first opened. As a child, my grandfather would bring me here to help him with tasks on our property. My family eagerly anticipates the incredible chicken fried steak buffet every time we visit town. I often joke that we're making the long trek from Houston just for this. The owners and staff are wonderful people, and everything on the menu is delicious. Thank you for the many years of great service and unforgettable memories!"

"so i have been here more than a few times and while i do love it; i was a tad bit disappointed on my last visit.my guest ordered a side Caesar salad that came out AFTER we were almost finished with our lunch. No apologies! When I told our server we were almost finished with our lunch, i got a blank stare. AND that is the reason its not 5 stars. the food is fantastic but for the price point, the salad should have been taken off the bill. IMHO the service should be stellar and it wasn't.Oh I will go back of course because the food is wonderful but i will be a lot more cautious and specific when ordering. I know I should have said something but i had a guest with me. after that hiccup our server went MIAI had the half sandwich (meatball) which was portioned just right and pretty darn tasty."

"This is a nice stop for breakfast or lunch. The menu is extensive with lotus of option for traditional bee and lunch cafe foods. The waiter was attentive and made sure our meals were good. There are vegetarian options, but very little vegan options. I did not ask for specific vegan options, so there may be vegan options that I am not aware of. My partner had a chicken sandwich that they said was good. The breast we average sized. The French fries were all small (my partner isn’t a fan of all little fries) . Not a big deal, but worth noting on their behalf. Decorations are all new and north woods style. Bathroom was nice, well maintained and clean."
