"Max's of Redwood City was once a fantastic spot for a hearty meal, group celebrations, or family outings. However, in recent times, it has started to show its age and feels outdated. The staff seem to be just going through the motions and getting through their shifts. What used to be a place we eagerly anticipated visiting has now become a last resort option."

"The food is average. The menu has not been updated in years. No greeter when you walk in, a small paper sign states to seat yourself but if you attempt to do so, usually an employee appears and not so kindly directs you where to sit. After you receive your food, you are lucky if the waitress refills your drink and the dinner rolls are cold and stale. The worst happens after you receive the check, which usually comes quickly: you are expected to take the check up to the cashier by the door where you are not asked how your meal was or even kindly greeted. The only thing they ask you is if you want to add a tip and when done they do not even say have a nice day or come again . This plays really bombs in customer service. It is those small things that make all the difference."

"First of.. AMAZING FOOD!! But I just ordered from the website over the phone and got charged close to double the amount than usual. The price on the website and in person is not the same when you order over the phone. When I asked I was told ? I am theowner and this is the price!? Never Again!!"

"First time visiting Max 's At The Opera and it was an underwhelming experience to say the least. We were attracted to the restaurant because of the large menu, outdoor seating deck, and live piano player. Despite standing in one of the two doorways, where a bulk of the customers and the bar is located, no one attempted to help us. After waiting for 4 minutes, being seen by staff, I had to approach the bar and ask the bartender, who can help? Should we seat ourselves? to which she replied yes, you can sit there (indicating the other side). The customer service was absolutely SUBPAR. To be honest, it was embarrassing! After walking to the other side, a hostess, who seemed disinterested, said, you can sit anywhere. After a few minutes of being seated, our server, who didn 't introduce himself and also seemed disinterested in helping, haphazardly gave us menus. No hello my name is, and I recommend. Absolutely nothing. I 'm not sure if the service is always pathetic or if there was a racial undertone to the lack of quality service we received. We ordered a Beyond Meat Burger with sweet potato fries, an order of fries, and the crab cake dinner. The fries that we ordered as an appetizer, came out with the meal. The food was okay (not bad, but, nothing to celebrate). Overall, I 'm not sure I 'll go back."

"We had a fantastic dinner experience. We sampled the new fall drinks, which were both amazing and delicious. I opted for the three-course prix fixe menu, and we also ordered a salad. Everything was wonderful, and the service was exceptional."

"UPDATE: Corrected food just arrived. A Goodfellows Wrap. Sorry I didn't go to bed with my son. Chicken is chewy and tasteless. Their stuff is normally very good. Not tonight. I think the Parlin location has gotten us for the last time. This place has so many great items. The prices are kind of high, but it's quality food. However, we live less than a mile from the restaurant and delivery can either be hot or right. Today is my birthday and they screwed up my order. We called right away, they admitted the mistake and are sending the corrected item. Meanwhile it's been over an hour, everyone ate (but me) and my 4 year old is now in bed and I'm still waiting"

"I grew up in Brooklyn and this is definitely a NY deli food delicious. Prices are pretty steep. Ruby is $19.95, but it's a crowded sandwich. To eat a lot. I was here because it's the only place to get Sable. Very expensive $60 a pound, but they fly it from New York. Nova Lox is also $60 a pound that is too high Central Market sells some excellent Nova Lox for half. Sable is so delicious I pay her price because I use it to have it delivered from NY and overnight ship alone was $50 Only happy they have Sable at all. Your Post Oak Blvd Store is the only one to sell it. Looks like ACME Sable, this is the best"

"I've always loved Houlihan's in the past, and our recent visit did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was excellent. The prices are reasonable compared to many local options. I ordered the BBQ burger, while my son chose the chicken tenders. Our food arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection. I requested my burger to be cooked medium, and it was spot on. If you enjoy BBQ-style burgers, this place is a winner. The bacon was crispy and not overdone. My son enjoyed his chicken; the tenders were tender and not overcooked. We also indulged in desserts—a brownie and vanilla bean cheesecake. I would recommend both!"

"A classic diner that is a welcome alternative to all the typical fast food/gas food joints along 95. The diner itself was very clean and well lit, the staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. We had the California chicken wrap and the Mexican wrap and they were both exceptional. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were huge and they even included a cup of soup. We upgraded to onion rings and we would highly recommend them. It was our first time there but definitely not our last. All in all a great experience!"

"A hidden gem with a price point that seems almost unfair to the presentation of food one receives. The location has tight parking shared in a strip mall with a us post office and paint store etc. The restaurant is small and very tight. The tables are arranged in a big 90 degree angle or L shape with the right angle being the front doors focal point. When I went, it was very busy. We used a heightchair for my child but it was pretty tight space wise. I also felt it was a little warm in the place with all the people inside. I hope they continue to keep prices low as it was a real selling point. Not much on the .enue was over $13. Keep up the good work! I had the Linguine at Larry's and it was very good. Parking: Just a tight strip mall parking situation. Wheelchair accessibility: Doable but very tight, not the easiest place to do so."
"Haven’t been here in a couple years. And was unfortunately left wanting when I returned. The entrees just felt like they were missing something. Not enough salt, and overcooked steak were disappointing. The lighting in the restaurant was just a bit too dim. Almost movie theater dim. The restaurant was spacious, and had nice art. But that about all I can say positively. Wish I could say better things."

"I ordered from this pizzeria for the first time tonight since my usual one was closed. I got a small special pizza, and it was honestly the best pizza I've ever had! The presentation was impressive too. I will definitely order from here again!"

"Crest Cafe is a cute little diner in Hillcrest gayborhood of San Diego. I will admit it was my second choice after my first had a long weight, but still being a little sick, I was pleased with the comfort food provided. On a Sunday night, it looked like they only had one staff member on the floor. So, it took him some time to attend to all the customers, but he was very nice. I was not in a hurry. The menu has a lot of options, as any good diner would, but I had zeroed in on the “Not Your Grandma’s Chicken Pot Pie” before I even arrived. So, that is what I ordered with coffee and a water. The pot pie came with a salad, which was well made, and the basil vinaigrette I chose was very good. The pot pie lived up to the name with a pretty spicy white wine sauce and red bell peppers to give you kind if a chicken mushroom soup base. The crust was flakey and delicious. I cleaned my plate."

"So my friend wanted a NY flavor slice of pizza, but in Philadelphia. I highly recommend John's Place for pizza if you're looking for a NY flavor type of slice. I went on a Thursday evening around 6:10pm and it stated online that they closed at 7pm for now. The workers were welcoming and the order of 2 pepperoni slices was served in under 10 minutes. It was served hot and had a good dough that wasn't flimsy and stayed afloat during the entire devourourment. Good cheese to pepperoni ratio. I added the extra italian seasonings and parmesan cheese offered to shake on yourself. They have competition nearby but this is your spot if like I said you're looking for a NY style slice of pizza pie. The mozzarella sticks (6) are good also served with a good, chunky marinara sauce included. Kid-friendliness: Kids love pizza right. This is some good pizza. Definitely worth it."

"If I could give more stars I would. Johnathan our server was knowledgeable and very nice. The food was remarkable. Definitely fresh and homemade. Our table had the meatloaf dinner, fried chicken dinner and the country fried steak dinner. All were fantastic and the side accompaniments, mashed potatoes, fries and hot apples were delicious. Desserts were just as good, egg custard pie, strawberry cream pie and key lime. Portions were generous. Definitely will visit again and recommend that you try them out."

"First bad review I am ever writing. Unfortunately, the food was awful. I ordered a prime rib....recd a PuB Steak. Not wanting to be a nuisance on Xmas..I accepted pleasantly. It was TOUGH. Very over cooked. Every one at my table has issues ....ribs were dry. Even child's pizza under cooked. Ordered fried donuts for desert, left on table ....middle a bit raw. I do realize it was christmas....which makes the situation worse. Expected a nice sit down with family....yet we all.left hungry and disappointed. Top dollar...to be so unsatisfied."

"Excellent experience! We've had numerous disappointing deliveries on holidays like Halloween and the Super Bowl, but this one was outstanding. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and everything arrived hot and right on time. The delivery driver was also very friendly."
