"Our first visit to Sheelen’s was on Saturday evening, April 16th, 2022, while we were passing through South Avenue in Fanwood. Since it was late, we opted for takeout, and we were thrilled with the quality and flavor of the battered fried fish and chips, the Po'boy shrimp sandwich, and the fried battered zucchini! The battered items were fried to a perfect golden brown, and the fish was cooked just right. The portions were generous, larger than we had anticipated. The coleslaw was delicious as well. The knowledgeable young woman who took our order answered all our questions about the menu. While we waited for our food, she invited us to sample their soups, which were self-serve from four large kettles. We tried the Lobster Bisque and the New England Clam Chowder, both of which were outstanding. Everything was nicely packaged, and they included a container of tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and packets of malt vinegar. The prices were reasonable, especially considering this is seafood. We will definitely be returning!"
