"Came in on a Sunday night and no reservations needed (and all day happy hour). We sat at the bar and could watch the bartenders make drinks. It is a Whiskey bar so the whiskey selection is extensive but I went with a Oaxaca old fashioned. Service is friendly, prompt, and the order food came out made sense. For ordering we got: Brussel Sprouts- perfectly crispy and a delicious balsamic/goat cheese sauce on top Bison Short Ribs- melt in your mouth meat piled high with cartelized onions-delish! Bison Meatloaf- flavorful and nicely paired with mashed potatoes and broccolini Overall, solid spot for dinner and drinks and we enjoyed our entire dinner experience here. They were out of the Chef's popovers so I'll have to come back to try those!"

"My boyfriend and I were so disappointed in this place. We drove all the way there from Acton only to have to leave because the noise level was so extremely loud and the TVs were on full blast and catered to a college football crowd. We were the only ones there not part of the football crowd. We tried to call ahead and no one answered the phone and no voicemail greeting. It would of been nice to hear a recorded message that it's college football night so we didn't have to waste our time driving down"

"Had a reservation. Was taken to a postage stamp size table just inside the front door. Unable to see the bar and all of the animal head displays. One choice of Chardonnay and one Pinot Noir offered per glass. Really??? Waiter did not offer any menu info nor asked if we had any questions. He seemed rushed and wanted to be done with us. If we would have had more info about menu we would have ordered differently. The worst dining experience ever."

"One of the best restaurant experiences in Columbus I've had. Wife and I went on a Thursday night for my birthday and it was fairly slow. The waiter was extremely accommodating offering many free samples without even asking for them. Truly passionate about the product and it showed. They had some interesting guest taps as well. A nice rye lager from a Chicago brewery etc...We had a couple appetizers, both incredible and came out quickly. Food hot and fresh. And we had entrees as well. The entree salad was a little basic, could have done a bit more imagination there but the dressing was so delicious and the burger is killer with that giardinera mayo. Nice delicate onion. No sulfur taste from the onion which shows they really try hard to execute simple dishes very well.Can't say enough good things here. Shout out to Augustine our waiter. Loved it all. The mezcal house shot is pretty smooth as well. Smoky."

"I finally got to try this little spot after passing it dozens of times and what a gem The Royal is! I met a friend for lunch and we both got arepas which were so fresh and delicious. The staff were all very warm and welcoming, yet chill and unpretentious (my fave combo! .On the way out, we spotted some amazing lunch dishes and the bar area looked so appealing. Definitely looking forward to going back in the evening to take advantage of the evening food and cocktail menus.Dietary restrictions: Lots of menu options for vegan, GF, etc."
